I'm not in the Pink :(

I have lost my favorite jammies, my ducky's are done, gone...thread bare and holey. We are old friends...my security blanket. First thing I look for in the laundry basket, is my duckies, it's like putting on old shoes, they are soft, they have lost all of their flannel, and I bet I didn't have them a week and I got one of those ell rips in them. I wear them while I am dying, and never got any dye on them...that I know of! I was kind of noticing they were getting pretty thin...a few pin holes here and there and then last night...I went to sit down and low and behold my knee came through the duckies. I almost cried...Hey there are two things I do the minute I walk in the door from work....put on my jammie bottoms and a cup of "Joe"!!! Don't come over and expect to see me dressed up and waiting for that knock...uh uh, home is flannel bottoms in winter and cotton in summer. I must admit that duckies were so thin they did double duty...summer and winter. I have had them for about 8 years, we are old friends..I still don't have the courage to destroy them completely...maybe I could make...something? Just look at that cute little smile...and don't look at that white chicken skin busting through the rip.

Oh Jannie, I know how you feel!!! I have a Woodie wash cloth in the same shap and I can't seem to part with it either. There is almost nothing left of it and Jeff has been asking me when I'm going to throw it away. Throw it away!!!! Is he nuts? Yes, I know I have a Buzz Lightyear one in the closet and Yes, I have a brand new Woodie hiding in a safe place for just this event BUT, I can't do it! I've been struggling with this for weeks. How can we part with old friends like this? Woodie has been helping me with tubbytime for many years.

I have a bunch more of sheepy ones, cloudy ones, but nothing can replace my duckies...isn't it funny how we can get attached to clothes? Purly girl, I hope your rip wasn't indecent!!!

Hey, hey, now let's not do anything rash, like pitching them out!!! You have that fancy sewing machine, let the ziggy do the zaggy to make a patchy! I got another whole year out of mine before the other knee gave way, so now I have matching knees. Sure beats some new itchy pj's.

I'm wearing my most favorite jammies right now and they're getting pretty thin but I think I can eek out another winter with them. My dad use to wear his until the back was just in shreds, then he'd ask my mom to fix them. I think she kept some of the beyond repair ones so she would have soft patches for them. That's love.
