Blackberries ala Bird poop!!!

Everyone warns you about Raspberry bushes and how you should never plant them in your yard for fear that they will overtake everything. The red flag comes out when you plant any and I mean any kind of mint. You can put mint in a pot and it finds a way to escape and travel like a carpetbagger all over your garden. Being the green thumb that I am not, if there is a way to plant anything wrong, I wrote the book. My herb garden is overun with Chocolate Mint...of course how could something that sounds soooo good, be evil? Another nasty, witch, is Comfrey....nice sounding, relaxing but a rebel trespasser. Roundup does nothing to kill any of these species. I even have some Stinging Nettle...a very healthy tea,, that you feel before you see it. I didn't plant that, I am not that brainless. I also can not get rid of it. Well now I have blackberries? I know better than to plant any kind of berry...not to mention my adverstion to picking any kind of berry. I had a Grandma that loved to pick berries, I on the otherhand liked to eat them. Rule number one, when picking berries with Grandma, never, and I mean never eat from the forbidden 10 gallon pail you had to drag along side of you. The pail was as tall as I was and I remember standing in the raspberry patch, which only is called that because you have to patch every darn piece of clothing you rip on the thorns. My mother ever willing to try to please berry picking Grandma was picking berries like a maniac. Filling 55 gallon drums like crazy!! Here I am standing, looking at the bush in front of me and down into the bottomless pail with three berries in it, up at the bush and down at the two berries in it. Can you see where this is going? Not to mention sand flies biting the hell out of my ears. I hate and I mean hate to pick fricking berries. Oh yes, I love to eat them, but I will forever forego eatting berries if I have to pick them. I like paying for them in their nice little plastic containers. But back then, Grandma made me pick schtinking berries. So evasive move #1..eat the berries you pick and get sick from them and throw up into the bucket...#2 stand looking at the bushes like they are aliens and you are frozen in fear of getting picked or the only one that really worked is to whine and whimper till your hero (dad) hears you...this sometimes meant loud little shrieks to get his attention, meanwhile picking the bites from the sandflies so they are bleeding down your face. Enter Dad, first off Dad and Grandma dearest never got along too well, second you didn't mess with us kids!! The minute I spy my dad coming over...yeah baby it's show time...Academy award winning acting well some acting some real trauma. My dad says "Look at her she's bleeding all over from the dam bugs biting her..what the hell is wrong with you, making her stay out here and pick GD berries. Go in the house. phew....Daddy I love you!!! But let me tell you the evil glares and the appearance of horns coming out of Grandmas head, I knew this was not over!!! So now many years later and I still hate picking berries, I have a blackberry bush from bird poop growing in my yard. Dare I say I am truley enjoying the fresh berries I am picking at my will!!!!! Little cups full at a time and I even share them, a couple berries at a time.

Art vs. Craft

That is the dilema....is it Art or is it a Craft? One may sit for long hours pondering this meager thought and then again.....no!! But it would be fun to have you stop by and say hi!! I am booth #79, there are 100 vendors and I am sure it will be fun. Besides it is indoors with Air conditioning. Albeit the logo looks a tad childlike but one year I was stationed next to a couple of girls with dildo covers? It made for interesting conversation, to say the least. I know I have been silent for a bit, but my attentions have been elsewhere. Like figuring out how to become a millionaire in a week. The air conditioner went out on my truck, so the ride home from work on the few 90 degree days we had, simply reminded me of Hooch from Turner and Hooch. I had my head out the window, one to cool down and two to avoid all the hair that was cycloning around the cab. I keep meaning to vacuum that!!! I did find if you drive fast with all the windows open, you can avoid vacuuming it up!!! I also found that any receipts that were stuck in the visor get sucked out too!!! Well stop by and check it out....MSOE Todd Wehr building.

Welcome to my kitchen

I go to this kitchen once a month and make my meals. I really like doing it this way. I make 8-10 meals, in an hour. I bring them home and freeze them and I get two meals off of each meal I prepared. I don't know about you but I have to cook for one. That sucks!!! I tend to cook for a soup kitchen and this regulates my portions a little better. It also keeps me from my love affair with Burger King...eww not that creepy one that is standing outside that guys window...how freaky is that commercial? The one with the drive through that says "May I take your order?" AAAhhhh yes, have it your way...cooked to order. The wind has shifted and a cold front has moved in Halleluiah!!!! Tomorrow I am planning on a bonfire in the fireplace outside of course. Hey, I think I finally stopped sweating!!!

Public Speaking 101

Ok, Ok, so the room is not brimming with knitters intent on getting my autograph and to hear funny wittisim about knitting and life. This talk could have went two ways...I had 27 slides...either I was going to eat chocolate and finish the speech in nano seconds, talking like I was on speed, or I was going to have them shifting cheeks, and smiling politely out of boredom and serving breakfast in the morning. It actually went, right along in a timely fashion. I didn't find myself zipping through the presentation and tried terribly hard to keep going "Uhhhmmmm or Sooooooo....". I actually took these photos before the meeting started..I was afraid nerves would get me and I would forget. Supposedly many women were to bring their sock machines....those many women ended up being Janyce, Susan, the program director and myself...I could see we were off to a good start. The presentation went off smoothly other than I got a dry throat and almost commenced to choke on my own spittle..it's always a wonderful way to break the ice in a group of people. Also not being accustomed to speaking into a microphone, and being attention deficit, I had a hard time keeping my mouth somewhere near the pick up zone, so the voice was coming through in waves of inside voice, outside voice. Add my animated hand movements and I'm sure I was drawing more attention to me than desired. Did you know there are a ton of rules for public speaking and I broke pretty much all of them. Now how do you not turn your back on someone in a U shaped seating arrangement, and figure out what slide is on the screen? How do you keep your mouth near a stationary microphone and not look around to make eye contact, without looking like Gumby? How do you avoid taking your cats favorite toy (laser pointer) hold it in your hand and not be tempted to flash it at your good friend Janyce, that is sitting right in line with the screen, just for fun...no not in her eyes....!!! Not to mention, I have an anklet of mosquito bites around my left ankle and my pants hem was tickling them just enough to cause a feroucious itching spree, that I was attempting to satisfy with my right foot. Harlot you have my blessings!!!!

Nervous Wreck

I am a nervous wreck...tomorrow I have to give a presentation, for the Greater Milwaukee Knitting Guild. I am giving a talk on Antique Sock machines, in front of 70-80 people. Am I becoming the "Harlot"...I don't think so...it's just a thought!!! I am getting everything ready for this great speech!!! More tomorrow!!

Is there anybody out there?

Seems I lost the few lurkers that I had? It only reiterates the fact, that I have a very boring life. I could start making things up...like uuuhhhmmm. I just finished knitting an intarsia sweater and also am working on a fishermans knit. When I finish that I will start my new line of baby sweaters, that I wrote patterns for...ehem...In real life...I am working on labels for my felted purses and hats. I made these on the computer with the new fabric/paper. It works and I am happy!!! Tuesday at the Greater Milwaukee Knitting Guild I will be putting on a sock machine presentation. with a glitch. I was told that I could use a power point presentation, when in fact, there is not projection equipment to do that. Now I am in the process of having transparencies made from the ppt. program. I think this will cost an arm and a leg? Do I forge ahead or blow it off? These are machines that are hid away in the Smithsonian Institution. I hope my idea works?? Have a good weekend!!!

Bad Hair Day?

It is the beginning of a wonderful Holiday weekend!!! It also signals the end of my vacation? Did I accomplish anything this week? Today I did!!! Nothing like waiting till the last minute!!! I made a bowl and an Alpaca beret...a few other little ditties and now I am relaxing or I will not be able to move tomorrow!!! I would like to get some other things made but it is getting hot out. Yes here in Wisconsin it goes from heating to air conditioning in hours. The photo is not a wild attempt at getting my beauticians license, it is a bowl in the process of being made. I did take a photo of the finished bowl but it was real light...I think too much sun? Did I say too much sun? I did dye some mohair locks this week and that I decided to do on a rainy overcast day because it is much easier to cook outside in the rain. Also fiber dries much quicker in the rain!!! I really didn't think so either.

Vacation

I am having a wonderful vacation. I painted my bathroom, which someone please tell me why I have such a hard time picking out paint!!! It looks good on the paint chip and then I put it on the wall and it takes on a life of it's own. I wanted a very pale pink for two walls that would match the wall paper on the other two. I took home all of the chips I wanted and placed them next to the antique looking paper and found the perfect pink..very light and fresh and would make my cheeks look 20 years younger with a healthy glow. Unlike the green I had first thought? haha I paint and as I am applying it, fushia comes to mind. Ok so now I have a hallway that resembles Taco Bell and a bathroom that looks like I am in Miami Florida. I guess I am non parti!!! It has dried and I like it. My little niece and nephew were over for the day and I put up a badge of our day together. I enjoy them so much!!! Tomorrow felting and dying...hopefully not in that order.

Where's the sunshine?

I know we are not the only area getting drenched. My heart goes out to the Eastern states that are swimming in floodwater. My only complaint is my lawn is looking like a field and going to seed. Not to mention my feet are getting webbed and I am quacking up. I am gearing up for Art vs. Craft the first show for the season, that will be in June. I am not getting much accomplished due to the final season finales of my favorite shows. With only "Lost" left and Desperate Housewives, this will soon come to an end also. Maybe I will be able to do something . It sure is great napping weather...Come on sunshine!!!!

Happy Mothers Day

To all my friends, here are some flowers for Mothers Day!!!! We actually caught some sunshine in an otherwise dreary week of rain and clouds. It was a refreshing sight and make you appreciatte the warm rays it shines down. Everyone went home, I had brunch or more like breakfast at my house. It was fun and it's always good to get everyone together. My little black niece and nephew got to have thier first outting to Auntie's house. We let the door open and they ran in and out and had full run of the yard, where the grass is like a field. I bet just like when we were kids, they were asleep in the car around the first turn. Joey (my dog) is also "spent". Poor Tinker the cat got accidentally locked in the basement, banished from petting and affection. He was waiting for me to open the door and came running out, seeking out the litter box with large oversized eyes and bladder. With a wonderful Mothers Day behind me...I am going to take a nap!!!!

Mundane

Each day when I go to work, I walk into a door to the building that houses my locker room and a shop. Each day I walk up the sidewalk and reach into my bag and pull out my work wallet and swipe my access card. It's a plain brown metal door with a window and I have been doing this for 18 years. About 8:00pm on a beautiful Thursday evening, a young man of 31, took his friends motorcycle for a run, he ended up dead. Somehow he was speeding lost control and ran up on the curb and hit the pole and building and the motorcycle ended up curled into the door opening and he lay dead in the street. Senseless, just a waste of a life. His family has put a Memorial up with flowers and notes. I read them and it made me cry. I don't use that door anymore. What once was a routine has changed for me. I didn't know him, but he changed the way I do things. It isn't just a brown metal door anymore. It's the place where a young guy died....some mother is going to have a very sad Mothers Day. I walk around another way..

Popcorn Galore

Just take a look around....Wisconsin is coming to life!!! Trees are getting leaves and the grass is growing fast!!! Yellow dandelions are all over and this is a photo of my Flowering Crab in the front yard. I keep the Christmas twinkle lights on this tree all year long and turn them on for this premier show!!!! The tree is so full of blooms it looks like popcorn. When the lights are on it looks like a very special tree and people passing will all make comments on how beautiful it is. Which brings me to another blog...I have been reading Yarnstorm blog. I will put a link on the sidebar. This is Janes blog and Jane lives in England, in a beautiful old house with very thick walls and she loves to cook, quilt and read. She also loves tulips...eh...I look at tulips and go "Old ladyish?" or I should say I looked at tulips and said that but, Jane has taught me that tulips are not just red and yellow, and something that rabbits eat...I am in love with tulips. Also during the Olympics, Betty brought me a boquet of tulips that were stunning. How could I walk past a tulip and not look inside? I have been missing so much...tulips aren't ordinary plain old tulips but they have been hiding a treasure of beauty inside each one. I will not overlook another tulip or any so called ordinary flower again...I promise, I will peek inside each one to see if there is a hidden treasure. Jane loves color and she is a great photographer...I can't say enough about how she inspires me. I told her she may just find me on her doorstep...honest I am not a stalker...unless she has wool and chocolate....wait till you see her baked goods...Not your ordinary baking...she makes every treat a delight...visit her!! but come back!!!

Answer revealed!!!

I told you we had Fiber Fanatiks and it was a small group, well Betty is knitting this beautiful sweater and she asked me to measure her back to make sure it was long enough. We figured out how long it would be to avoid exposing muffin top. She said "like this?" and lifted her arms really high, and that's when it happened AAAcccckkkk it was white and looked like it had been shot!!!! We all cringed and Karen was gouging her eyes out....Janyce was screaming "Mommy make it stop!!!" Anne was speechless!!! I in turn told her to put some wool in her navel and I'll take a photo of it? She did, so I did!!!! Now....she feels the pangs of shyness.....forget it Betty tooo late!!!! This is just a glimpse of what happens when I get bored or have had too much sugar...Betty was just an innocent bystander.....mmmmm something tells me not too innocent!!!!

Can you figure out what this is?

I mentioned that we had Fiber Fanatiks last night....You all know how much gas costs....our group was small. (We missed all of our traveling buddies) As a small group it was I must say more intimate...and funny. My cheeks were sore from laughing so hard. Betty Phucket, (rhymes with bucket) had me cracking up. We were all exchanging childhood stories of growing up...it was hysterical but all had a common thread. Well we got creative with the photo and I'm wondering if you weren't there if you can figure out what it is? This photo sure beat any knitting any of us were working on. I am still laughing when I look at it. When I get a few descriptions, I will tell you the reason and explanation of this prize photo. It really had to do with knitting!!!! Meanwhile have a good weekend. I am going to be playing!!!

Answer to your questions

In response to the questions of what pattern is it? I designed it...hahahahhahahahahahhahahha I lied!!! It is from Knit It magazine the leave until April 2006 issue. There actually is another very cute shrug in the book too. The shrug was really fast and simple. I used Lion brand chunky in Fisherman and it took three skeins. Cheap and easy!!! I gave it to Cheryl tonight and I think she liked it, although she tried it on over a hooded sweatshirt...not the most flattering on the runways these days. We meaning Joey and I visited with the little fur kids, they are too cute. Baby news!!! Lois had another little grandbaby girl!!! Congratulations Grama!! I also finished my St. George and the dragon or something socks and they have weird toes...like I have been kicking walls all my life. I will take a photo when I have washed them and a miracle will happen. Tomorrow night is Fiber Fanatiks and it has seemed like a long time since I was there..a month? Hope to see you all there!!

Cheryls Shrug

It's finished, washed and dryed and I am happy with it. Cheryl has not seen it yet, I hope she will like it. Or better yet use it as a functional piece. Words out the Yarn Harlot is coming to Chicago, it would be fun to take a trip and see her. I don't know where she is going to be, it is not posted yet. I think something ate all of my tulips and at least they nourished some little body..vs. the frost getting them. It is pretty cold here tonight!!!! I like it...

Forsythia

I had to put a shot of my Forsythia blooming..you see it hasn't blossomed for a few years. I think the problem was it was shadowed by my the neighbors wild grapes. Last year I did some radical trimming of thier wild grapes and now I think my two bushes are not getting strangled. I have two lilac bushes and one is not blooming but the wood is still green, I am hoping it was in shock...or not? It was my white one, I had a really hard time growing lilacs can you believe it? I have finished the shrug for Cheryl. She is always cold at work, and she is so good to my brother. I will take a photo after I block it. This was really a quick project and took three skeins of yarn. Have a good Sunday.

Betty Crocker baby!!!

Oh Yeah....Betty Crocker ain't got nothin on me!!! I made this carrot cake from an awesome easy recipe. It's all gone already, I brought some to my invalid brother that is still off with a bad back. He is slowly moving better but still laid up. It was a good cake. I forgot to (didn't really want to drudge it up) mention that I had a flat on the freeway Saturday. So here I am with Joey as my passenger pulled off on the off ramp...with my arse up in the air trying to lower the spare from under the truck. Praying that the spare is full of air....it was. This really nice guy...stops and asked if I needed help....What? Moi? Need help...me Miss I can do it not a problem? Me the one that can't accept help from anyone..no thank you and then I proceeded to kick myself in the butt...What is wrong with me...so I vow the next person unless of course it is a Grandma in a handicab that offers to help me I will graciously accept. So a half hour later I am still fixing this tire...just kidding! I put me butt up in the air again and figured either I'll scare the crap out of them....or they may say..."Hey the chick could stand to loose a few pounds...good job for her." or they will offer to help. I loosen all the lug nuts and have the tire down on the asphalt along with a me lying down under the truck trying to put the jack under the axle, meanwhile watching to see if I am going to witness the vehicle that is going to make a pancake out of me. I see a pair of feet or shoes...and I look up and it's a saint...not my definition of a knight in shining armor, but a nice guy that wasn't going to take no for an answer anyway...I let him help!!! He was very nice and I did hand him things like a wrench. I felt guilty though....I could have done it, but it sure was nice not to!!!! I didn't offer him any money because I don't think he took credit cards..well if he did he had a prime opportunity while I was face down with my rearend up in the air. I thanked him and we were both off...What a nice guy!!! They are still out there.

Greetings from Hong Kong

My son Mike sent me this photo, to tease me...from Hong Kong. He is on vacation there for 11 days, 3 of which he will spend in Phuket...no Betty, it is a long "U"...today he went to a Mountain to visit the largest Budda? He was surprised at how International Hong Kong actually is, and you can see that from the photo...Happy Easter.

Easter traditon

In keeping with the Easter tradition, many families and children woke to gayly filled Easter baskets..brimming with brightly colored cellophane grass and flavored jelly beans. Tall standing Chocolate rabbits and creme filled eggs. Halt....did I say Chocolate rabbits? Well our house and please don't tell my 30 year old son had another tradition.
I was good while filling the basket on the Eve of the Holiday. I arranged every piece of candy in a cute manner, and I even limited the amount of crappy candy that no one likes. (I'm thinking those pastel colored sugar eggs?) So with the basket filled and sitting on the livingroom floor, kind of hiding in plain sight. I would be watching TV and like a magnet that basket would pull my eye over to all that chocolate...the smell would be softly drifting through air...settling around my nose. Chhhoooooooccccccooooooollllllaaattttteeeeee.....jjjjjaaaaannnnnnn....eeeaaaaattttt mmmmmeeeeeeeee jjjjjuuusssttt aaa lllliiiitttttlllllleeeee nnnnniiiiibbbbbbbbblllllllleeeeee. Darn ...so what were my options...In an angry manner, I would just march over and before I could get a grip I would bite the ears off of the chocolate rabbit that was leering at me from the edge of the basket....taunting me beyond my will power...ooppppsss. As the chocolate was melting in my mouth, and the sweet sensation rushed through my vains...I would get a feeling of remorse...now what? What do I do? I ruined Tall Earred Tommy the chocolate rabbit, his grin still frozen on his face. I have ..my whole life...been precariously put into these jams...self inflicted but a McGiver in getting out of them. So as any good mother would do, I put jelly beans in the rabbits head, like it came that way...a jelly bean filled Easter Squirrel!!!! Alas a family tradition was born. Each and every Easter eve...I knew I had an out..did you know they make rabbits with 10" ears? Happy Easter!!

St George socks reappearance..

I was digging around under my loom as I was tying up the treadles...and low and behold I found some UFO's!! Imagine that, so for a very horrible photo...here is St. George Mystical Mosaic socks from Blackberry Ridge. I think I started these about....ooohhh 3 years ago and that is being conservative. I lost interest when I realized I probably can't wear them because they are too big a knit for my Princess feet. I have one sock done and I have to say it is a pretty homely looking sock..and I am going to hope ....that the blocking will do wonders. I am off for the rest of the week and have a full dance card. My son is leaving for Hong Kong tomorrow morning where he is going on vacation and also to Phuket, Thailand. I am excited for him, it should be a great trip and I told him that fabric would suit me fine..batik would be nice but whatever!!! We are not the sovenier type of family, so I'm sure he will bring me something unusual. My word of advice to him is if while in Phuket..he notices that the beach is getting really long...to start running for the hills. And don't visit any chicken petting zoos!!! And don't bring home anything that eats!!! I was getting geared up for Lost tonight and the electric went out. I have been joking about having to live in a cardboard box if I don't pay my utility bill soon but I paid it ...honest. I thought maybe they lost my check? So I sheepishly went outside to find the whole block was out ...phew!!!! I guess it was a tree thing.

Spring Fever

The sweet taste of Spring...!! I fear this weather because up until May 10th I don't think we are in the clear!!! I almost thought of uncovering my lounge furniture, but slapped myself before I got totally crazy. I did lay in the hammock though. I am almost through plumbing I caulked the tub tonight whilst taking my bath and I need to fix the cold water faucet and I am hopefully done. Two major projects left to do is to paint my livingroom and bathroom. I am thinking a blushing pink for the bathroom and a green of some sorts for the living room. I am in a color mode...sick of white...real sick of white. I have not wove on my newly dressed loom and I have only knit a little. I have to start getting ready for shows, I am being a slacker!!! I was laying in my hammock and closed my eyes and when I opened them...someone cut my sky in two!!!!!

Picture this

The smell of Spring is in the air, red breasted robins are singing their sweet song. The sun is shining warmly...I drag my tired butt out in the back yard and alas my hammock is waking up from a season of cold and snow!!! I took my binoculars out there and a blanket and watched some birds..actually looking for the cardinals that sing at dawn and dusk each day. It was wonderful...the sun was warm and soothing...and I napped. I am going to embrace my plumbing this weekend. All is well....!
Ha sounds like I should now have the munchies!!! I am ...carefully form these word with your lips...making a swatch...I know I know, I think I may have inhaled too many sewer fumes. I am knitting a shrug for Cheryl, she is always cold at work so I thought a nice off white shrug would do the job. It will go with everything. I am knitting the ribbing and it looks boring? So I am going to go to bed...daylight savings is kicking my hinney!!!

Still strung out!

I am slowly recovering from an intense weekend with wrenches. When I am more relaxed and it is happening, I will look at my further bathroom remodeling options? Do I knock out the tile or try to salvage the mess? So I finally have my loom all ready to weave. I worked on it tonight, before "Lost"...I am addicted. I have to switch between Idol and Lost, with Lost as my primary and during commercials trying to catch who gets voted off of Idol....oh the drama!!!
I have to wind some bobbins with some rayon weft, and decide what I am going to want this to look like? smooth, bumpy...subtle or subtle? I am weaving fabric, and the colors aren't really my favorite but I think they will weave nicely. There are no samples in this house...unless it's a sample of a brownie, and then you can be reassured that there will be a whole pan somewhere close by. Hey can you believe Easter is next week? I just found out..I seem to be having a problem with calenders this year?? Thank you all for your support on the plumbing issue!!! Planning any Orange or yellow projects?

House for Sale

Cheap!!!! All new plumbing!!! I have been struck with the schtinking plumbing woes!!!! You may remember I bought a new faucet for the bathroom because it was leaking. After my clogged drain episode...I have just looked at the new faucet and admired how nice it looks in the box. So I was going to take a shower and with one clunk, no water came out of the shower head...no big deal I don't like showers anyway...but....in order to not become a ghetto house, I figured this weekend I would change the faucet washers, because that is probably what is wrong. Mind you there were no leaks!!! After screwing off all of Saturday morning, I decided to shut off the water and change the washers....ez enough...sound familiar? SSSsooooo, I proceded with the operation and all is well....in less than 30 minutes I am done...but wait...as long as the water is off, I may as well put in the new faucet....all is well...looks good tie up all the loose ends and turn on the water...we're now talking 6:00pm...Down in the basement and turn on the water...run upstairs and the hot water faucet is leaking...more like it is pissething, not the new one the one that didn't leak before in the tub. Ok tighten the packing nut...I do this all the time. It still leaketh..tough crapola. I am going to sit down and relax for a bit, I will tackle it tomorrow!!!
Sunday morning
Turn off the water, tools in hand and hike up two flights of steps and remove the hot water faucet assembly...washer looks good? but I will change it again and check the seat...smooth? Ok this will do it..button it all up and go two flights down and turn on the water and walk back up Oh and don't forget my stress level is rising and so "Precious" is sensing this and is walking two steps ahead of me all the way...little did she know my foot was about to spontaneously ram into her butt....I talk myself down and Oh look the faucet is still leaking...I take a wrench and tighten it down some more...so...three more times trying to analyze what could be the problem and it's 4:00 Sunday night...my patience is down to nill and I am frustrated. I take a long break and re-evaluate the situation...Eat some chocolate and watch my shows and go to sleep...that's it sleep on it.
Monday morning
The pissething faucet will surely put my water bill over the edge if I keep letting it run like that so I shut the water off to the house and go to work...I pick every ones brain and ask if they ever ran across this? Most probable answer..."No? and an added Plumbing sucks!! I have a game plan..after work I will go to the plumbing experts with my dear assembly....
3:30pm I walk into the pro shop and he looks at my faucet and says "HHhmmmm Bob? You ever seen one like this?" UUUmmm no can't say that I have..can't help you, maybe the housing is cracked? I grab my unique schtinking faucet and leave with no help. I stop at home again open the closet behind the bathroom..after emptying all of the crap I forgot I had and rip out the whole "Unique" faucet set. Off to Ace....another salesman....are you sure it has an 8.5 center...yeah buddy, I can read a freeking ruler, maybe if you want I can take this One of a kind morphadite and shove it ...oh never mind...off I go to torment some other saleman at Home Depot. I buy a new faucet with 8" centers and figure I will force the sucker to fit.
8:00pm I am done and you can see how the Hillbilly is going to leave it till I can finish it...which means now I have to rip out the rest of the tile. I actually took a bath and enjoyed looking into my office from the tub...I can do this....for now!! So don't bother calling me ever again...I am grounded for life to this money pit!!!

March Meeting

We had a large group of Fiber Fanatiks on Thursday!! I didn't crop everyone off of the photos the mosaic did that Sorry!! It was actually a quiet group...(we had food)! There are so many cool projects people are making and I'd have to say Shrugs tops the list. It's hard to get a photo of everyone, unless of course you confiscate the forks, and throw a ball of yarn in one corner and as they all dash for the ball of yarn...hollar "Free Fiber!!!" and with smiles they would all turn around and "Click" photo opp!!! I am still threading my loom, I found a mistake, so it was time to take a break. I am almost ready to weave. I have been using the shoelace method as taught by the "Singing Weaver" Nadine Sanders. Wisconsin Weavers had a program with her a few years back and I was intrigued and it has proved to be easier and faster once you are set up. That is providing you don't make a mistake!!!

Resurrecting the Crippler

Remember the Crippler, aka the Einstein.... the beginning of Tendenitus...Carpal Tunnel and Acid Reflux. Well it has sat on my loom, doing just that looming about and leering at me to do something with it. I decided I didn't want the sleeves on it, because I have short arms and the sleeves only made them look shorter. I opted for a long vest like look. My brother made the buttons out of deer antlers. He used the stump of the antler, which is nearest the head. They are gorgeous. Tomorrow, which is Thursday is Fiber Fanatiks. I need some creative conversation. Hey Lois your colors are coming up for April!!! Orange and Yellow!!!!

Happy 83rd Birthday Mom

Today is my mom's birthday!! I thought I would post a photo of her in her Native dress. just kidding mom!!! When I was a child, my dad, who is Native American Ojibwa and French, would tell us our mother is Indian. This did not sit well with my mom, due to the stigma that was attached to being Indian, it was shameful to be Indian. We never bought into it, being that cowboys and Indians was the thing to be...all our heros were Cowboys and we didn't know what "Stigma" even meant. Anyways, my mom would get really ticked off because he was the Indian not her...! While on a camping trip out west, we went shopping and I got Navajo moccasins and my brother got a Souvenier Indian knife...check this out I was probably 10-11, which would make my brother 5-6...and he had a switchblade knife. So we stayed at this Reservation campground and I met a girl from Alaska that was camping with her grandparents. There were horses in the field on the side of the campers, and I had my moccasins on, which gave me bragging rights about being Indian. I was filling this girls head with bull from beginning to end...oh yeah, if I could get into that pasture, I would ride those horses bareback..(never been on a horse at that timeframe, other than the nickle horse in front of Treasure Island). We lived on a reservation, in a Teepee and I showed her my knife...eh, my brothers knife that is. The great part about camping as a kid, you will never see those people again...you can live out any fantasy you want when you travel...unless of course you get caught. I was in the shower room with my new found sucker...I mean friend and in walks my mom, I say Hi Mom, and she says "Hi honey" and new found squeeler, I mean girl says, really loud..."is that your Indian mother?" I think I saw steam coming out of the toilet stall, as my mom said through clenched teeth "Jan, get to the car..." uuuhhhmm ...I go to the car, that was packed up and ready to go, dad in the driver seat, my brother seated behind him and me behind my mom's seat...here comes mommy!!!! Kicking up stones as she was flying into the front seat...Al..(that is my dad) she is telling everyone that I'm a damn Indian...I was cowering...dad was snickering and mom was having a hissy fit....She actually threatend to take away my moccasins...so I offered her uuuhhhmmm.......my knife....
I made this card for her, and she looked at it and said that the Indian actually looked like her and I had to tell her it is!!! How funny is that...the miracles of Photo shop!!! So Happy Birthday to my Indian mother!!!

Pink Bubble Gum

Wow, that is some bubble!!! This is from our Sunday morning bowling game. I am a terrible bowler, but it is fun to just throw the ball around and be a "tard"!! Obviously my son, has inherited the same sense of humor as his mom. Is anybody working on something for Project Spectrum...pink and red this month? I have the intestines done and I did some spinning but not either of those colors..(check previous post). I found out how I lost some brain cells...well one way at least. Today they are calling it "choking", it is a very dangerous game or hobby some kids are getting. They choke themselves till they pass out and when you come to, you get all tingly and woozy. Problem is when you tie something around your neck and you pass out...you die. It's a real buzz? When I was a kid, after spinning around in circles a zillion times, got boreing, I remember someone saying "Hey, if you breath really hard for 10 times and then hold your breath and cross your arms, you faint...oh boy doesn't that sound like fun. I think I tried it once and it didn't work very well, but I do remember the tingling. Being the smart child that I was, I decided to show my mom my new trick...hey mom watch this!!! I passed out all right, I think it was her hand or maybe her shoe that hit me. When I came too, I had a tingling feeling, I think it was numbness from Mommy Dearest demonstrating the choke hold on me, and telling me "How not to ever do that again!!" So...what is old, once again becomes new. I must have been about 11 or 12 when I did this, and my one time "fainting" demo and lecture on what this does to your brain, was enough to scare the crap out of me. I was a dumb kid, very gullible, we didn't have a "Family room" we played in the Living room, in front of our parents. We shared bedrooms, so limited privacy there. We ate dinner together, had one bathroom, a set bedtime. kids now are smarter and have the ability to hide more from working parents. Maybe that's why we didn't get away with this kind of stuff...not that we didn't try. Heck I even showed them what an idiot I was. Hey mom, here's living proof that I'm a dork!!! Talk to your kids, they are better at hiding things than we were. at least than I was....

Hot Pink Tootsies

Remember Ice skating? Remember tieing your ice skates really tight to help support your ankles.....soooo tight that your feet fell asleep, but you didn't notice because they were froze? Then came the fun part....when you untied your skates and the blood rushed into your toes and burned like fire....well in fond memory of that wonderful event in my life, I relived it today. I bought new work shoes, tied them nice and tight...and they actually felt really comfortable. I should mention that I am on my feet all day, on concrete...standing. So in lay terms this means that my feet swell, I have in terms of endearment "Cankles", by the end of the day..(Cankles for those of you unfamiliar with swelling feet are Ankles that are as fat as your calves) Ok back to the story...so by 1:00, my feet are starting to pinch, just a little, so I will walk on them for another two hours before I can open the gates of hell. I actually couldn't "feel" my feet, it was the tingling in my toes that I noticed, as if they fell asleep...I think they did. So I am walking with these concrete blocks, I used to call feet, that have begun burning, the only reason I know they are burning is I can smell the rubber from my new shoes. I can do this...It's almost time to go home and I can untie these corsets from my sleeping, tingling feet. Now comes the locker room, I sit down on the bench and I try to untie my shoes, there is so much stress behind those laces, that I am now looking at my knife to cut the laces to let my toes breath...I will win this battle and with one swift pull of the gray striped lace, the shoe opened up like Pillsbury cresent rolls on a hot day!! Without a breath, the blood is rushing past the cholestral infested veins at top speed to my tippy toes, I was sure my toenails were going to pop up like the trunk on a car. I can't begin to explain the pain, so I rubbed them and talked them down...something like...ahhh poor babies, please stop burning and hurting. I only have to walk 4 blks to the parking lot, I know my old shoes will soothe the pain, but when I stepped into them I think I felt blisters on the soles of my feet. I took little baby steps to my truck..people were passing me ...where the heck is a ride when you need one...Oh I can hardly wait till tomorrow, for more torture. My poor little Hot Pink tootsies!!!

I'm not in the Pink :(

I have lost my favorite jammies, my ducky's are done, gone...thread bare and holey. We are old friends...my security blanket. First thing I look for in the laundry basket, is my duckies, it's like putting on old shoes, they are soft, they have lost all of their flannel, and I bet I didn't have them a week and I got one of those ell rips in them. I wear them while I am dying, and never got any dye on them...that I know of! I was kind of noticing they were getting pretty thin...a few pin holes here and there and then last night...I went to sit down and low and behold my knee came through the duckies. I almost cried...Hey there are two things I do the minute I walk in the door from work....put on my jammie bottoms and a cup of "Joe"!!! Don't come over and expect to see me dressed up and waiting for that knock...uh uh, home is flannel bottoms in winter and cotton in summer. I must admit that duckies were so thin they did double duty...summer and winter. I have had them for about 8 years, we are old friends..I still don't have the courage to destroy them completely...maybe I could make...something? Just look at that cute little smile...and don't look at that white chicken skin busting through the rip.

Intestinal Fortitude?

Guess who isn't too happy, wearing the guts around her neck? Suddenly Joey got shy? Check out those ears pinned back to her head.....This has been a busy week, for me. I had the Sport show Tuesday, and making dinners to cook at a dinner to go, place on Wed. and tonight vegging out tonight, and shoveling the 24" of snow we didn't get!!! Oh by the way, you are all joking about my intestinal tract, but I don't see anybody else baring their guts!!! I think unlike the Harlot with her photos of socks all over the world, I may take up baring my guts all over the world??? hhhhmmmm I may be on to something.

Remember this Pink?

Can you remember the flowers? the green grass? color? I thought you may want a shot of color. I am done working on the pink intestine. I can always rely on fellow bloggers to set me straight on what it "Really" looks like!! I am not a pink fan to begin with and this looked kind of cute to me...until now, all I can see is my guts swirling around my neck. Or maybe Piggy Pink guts!!! eeeewwww!!! I am still winding warp of tencel for the yardage I want to weave. I do not like to wind warp...I don't mind dressing the loom but I don't care to wind the warp. I have to keep saying to myself...it is part of the process. I am going to the Sport show tonight with my brother. I have not been there in years and it is really close to my house. It's one of those things that you go to once every 10 years because they have the same gimmick fishing lures, which of course you HAVE to have. It's the kind that when you pull the line it goes deeper into the waters, enticing the trained fish to circle it and it dances and swirls and the fish gather around it in multitudes like it is an alien ship invading their waters. Oh the fish don't bite on it, but they look at it!!! Then there is the defogger, that keeps your glasses fog free...once!! The Nada chair that everyone had at least one of....this was a contraption that you strapped around your waist ( it took 3 hours to figure out how to get it right) then put these straps over your knees and it took the pressure off of your back while sitting on a bleacher... yeah....!! So between my brother and I, we have bought our share of gimmicks from this event and truthfully I can't wait to go again!!! Hey Sport show "Barkers" Hawkers....whatever....We're coming!!!!

Warm pink and fuzzy....eeeww?

No this is not a porn site. I am trying to keep with the pink/red theme. I am knitting/crocheting this moebius with handspun yarn and some pink mohair I bought somewhere...I am stash busting. I didn't like the plain old moebius and thought I would crochet a ruffle on the edge, that was too pink so I am edging that with the handspun and now I like it. Like I always do it starts out as one thing and ends up being something else. It is raining again, it's a mixed bag of weather this month in Wisconsin. Cold, hot, warm, cool, rain, fog and let us not forget snow...a good saying in Milwaukee is, "If you don't like the weather stick around for 15 minutes it will change." I have another epiphany, I need to find the photos of "Wooly". I think we need to bring him out for a good laugh. Wooly for those of you not introduced is the very first handspun sweater I knit. I was just learning to spin and I was left pretty much on my own to spin and knit this amazing sweater... I will find the photo and then share it with you!!!

PINK flamingo

Last night, was spinning guild night at my house. Searching for something pink to put on my blog, Karen had the best knit flamingo...it doesn't get much pinker than that!!! It is a Fiber trends pattern that you knit and felt...Isn't she cute...the flamingo I mean!!!!! hahaha So I am done with the parties for now (I breathe a sigh of relief)....I have a story about the old lady at the grocery store yesterday. I was picking up cakes for the evening and some old lady was looking in my cart with some disgust..either she thought that I took all the cakes and she wanted one, or she thought I didn't look like I needed any more cake? Either way it was none of her business, so after I passed her I looked at the front of my cart thinking maybe someone wrote something dirty on it?? no ..so I keep shopping only to encounter her once again, blocking the row I was going to go down, Behind her is a frustrated young man throwing his hands up in the air as she is perusing the jello shelves, with her cart strategically placed in the center of the aisle so no one can go anywhere. I am aimed right at her as she gives me another dirty look and I decide there is too much drama in that row, I can go to another aisle. So with shopping over, I am walking to the checkout line when here comes the old bag doing a sprint that would make a relay runner look handicapped. I was going to go into that lane, but she beat me too it, and too bad for her it was closed!!! Spared me the embarrassment of diving for the revolving belt. In a last minute gesture to save face she decided she forgot milk...hhhhmmmmm so as her husband was attending her cart...gazing at some chick four rows down, I was filling her cart with whatever the end cap had on it...batteries, air freshner and cereal. Lucky for her we were too far from the gift of the month stainless steel pans. so I left the store with a smile on my face and a bag full of cakes and sweet revenge.......note to self...never leave my cart unattended and don't be a crabby old lady, do drugs instead!!!!

Think Pink, and Red!!

Here's the scoop on Project Spectrum, whilst creating in Pink and Red, think of a snack to bring in Pink and Red also. Somewhere towards the end of March we can get together, or maybe we can do it all on the last Thursday of the month at Johnny V's, with the Fiber Fanatiks. That way my "Precious" won't be tempted to taste some of you....more than others!!! She just wants to be one of the "girls". Precious, for those of you who have not had the joy of meeting her, is my dog Joey! Wild, mental and very short attention span best describes her...hey that describes me too!!! No wonder I love her so much!!! Anyway, life's lesson would be if you want something to come to you, don't like it or be allergic!!!!

That's Joey with Auntie Lois and Auntie Sue, she likes them because they bring her treats. She is showing you how she can lick her own nose...let me tell you, her talent doesn't stop there!!!!!

Project Spectrum

Seeing as though I have some extra time on my bacteria infected fingers. I finally have the link done for the Project Spectrum. Oh yes knitters, spinners and whoevers, we have a new project and thus can have a new party!!! If you click on the sidebar Project Spectrum it will take you to Lolly girls blog, the creater and originator of color of the month. March's color is Red or Pink. This is a fun idea, which makes (provokes ) us to use different colors for each months projects. Little does Lollygirl know that within 10 foot radius I can put my hands on about 12 unfinished projects of varying colors as we speak. But in following the rules of the game, I am going on a search for either Red or Pink to make something??? So to get onboard, check Lollygirls site to see the color of the month club!!!
March - Red and Pink
April - Orange and Yellow
May - Green
June - Blue
July - Violet / Purple
August - Neutrals / Black & White

Let the games begin....again!!!!

I dodged the bullet...I thought?

The kleenix is for my nose and the tea is for my cold/flu, and don't look at that Nutritional fact thing? Whatever the heck I have? I sound like I just smoked 3 packs of smokes and watched a Packer game. It came on quickly, so beware. It started with sneezing, itchy eyes and runny nose. I know it has been going on around me, I know lots of people have had this...why I didn't get it sooner is beyond me. I know to wash my hands frequently...and I do this, but only after I have touched every germ bearing source around me (hand rails, come to mind?) and then shoved my finger down my throat to insure the planting of any rampant germs way down in the pie hole so they can't get back out. I rub my eyes and press the bacteria into the little triangle inside of the eye so it can travel into my system faster, and how about that nose...oh yeah poke not one, but all of those fingers in the nostrils....what is with that? Part of me wants to believe I am building up an immunity and the other part of me says it's because someone said "Don't touch your eyes, nose or mouth with germy hands!!" So now I suffer the consequences..? So for those of you out there...like me...."Shove those fingers in all of your head orfices to insure proper plantation of germs." Then go buy some extra soft kleenix, Airborne, and Tea, and read blogs all day!!!

Look what I got!!!

I want to Thank my fellow Team Cheese members for thier support. I want to Thank Franklin for generating the really cool Knitting Olympic medal. I want to have another party .....kind of a post Olympics, in a couple of weeks, and on a Saturday when we don't have to go to work the next day...yeah...sounds like a plan.

Gotta love her!!!

I have mentioned to my family, just how much I laugh at the Windex crows commercial...where the guy is in his backyard and doorbell rings and he goes through the patio doors to answer it/cuts back to the crows one says" hey want to do something funny? " closes the patio doors and the guy comes back and walks into the glass doors, the crows start hysterically laughing and it makes me just laugh out loud. Soooooo, my sister-in-law was home alone and she went upstairs to take a shower, as she was putting on her robe, she heard the doorbell, a sound she is not real familiar with I may add, (everyone uses the back door.) and she headed down the stairs to see who was visiting and answer the door. As she rounded the bottom of the steps, she saw the crows on TV laughing hysterically....the crows got her too!!!! Well OK maybe you had to be there...I have only seen that commercial once. Only because I want to!!!!

My Vacation..

Day One- I went to Weavers Guild meeting, cleaned house
Day Two-Cleaned house somemore made Italian sausage in Tomato sauce..(make note of this tomato sauce) Had the Olympic Party and a good time was had by all.
Day Three-Talked on the phone, did pretty much nothing, did some knitting...good day!!!
Day Four-Planned on getting new faucets for the bathroom and kitchen, took mom to Motor Vehicle and out for dinner. Went to Krosha to knit with the group.
Day Five-Went to the washtubs in the basement to get water to rinse paintbrushes and noticed something orange in the sink? hhhmmmm looks like spagetti sauce....sure is spagetti sauce, but I rinsed the dishes upstairs? Ok get the Liquid Plumber and pour down sink..now you know when this started!!!! I used my super duper Pampered chef grease mop to take the grease off of the top of the sausage and of course with very hot water rinsed the mop....that was Sunday. Ok so pour more grease cutter down the drains. make note:grease mop is in garbage and I use paper toweling to sop the grease from here on.
Day Six-I have plans to visit a friend so pour more junk down the sink and I leave very early. While I am out, my mother volunteers me to do some of her friends mending..the friend calls me and I don't commit...I seethe!!! Come home the sink is still plugged and now the pipe is leaking. Off to the hardware store to buy pipe and fittings and more s*#@t. I have the piping done by 8:00pm but the plug is still there.
Day Seven-Up early pour more junk down the sink, go to the hardware store. Buy faucets one for the bathroom too. The one in the kitchen has decided to spring a leak on the cheap ass chrome covered plastic...why not!!! I also buy a 30' long snake to shove into the crappy drain. I come home and empty all the junk from under the sink take the cleanout apart I cut the tie wraps on the snake and it is spring loaded and whips me in the face..oh the words out of my mouth...let the games begin....I proceed to shove the snake deeper and deeper into the bowels of the sewer pipe. I think it is reaching out to the road by now so I slowly pull it back wiping off the black unknown crap that is hanging on it. I have this nasty thing by the neck and out the back door it goes into the snow...just in case it has to make another appearance. Mission accomplished, now the faucet...that is a breeze. I am done...skip the bathroom faucet for now...my back is killing me.
Day Eight-Run water down my clean drain and trust I can wash clothes....I do, it drains I'm back in business. I am making lasagne and I fear an orange wash tub again...It all seems Ok!!! Life is good, I need to go back to work for rest!!!
I did some spinning today....

Hell day!!!

Did I mention I was on vacation? Did I mention that just because I wasn't going anywhere I didn't want to have to do plumbing all week. Or unvoluntary sewing for someone else that I don't know? The day started out Ok, except I knew my drain was plugged and put some stinking Liquid Plumber down it before I went to bed. Put more down before I went to Madison, did some visiting and got a call from a friend of mommy dearest. Hi Jan your mom said you could sew these pants for me....did she now? hhhhhmmmmm maybe mummy can sew them for you....steam rising off of Jan....I will call you back...later!!!! I came home to a still plugged sink. So off to the hardware store where I bought all kinds of "better" liquid to throw down and I did and then I heard the water piddling on the floor...sure enough I rotted the pipe...dammit. So trip #2 to the Hardware store...Hi Jan...back again? Yup!!!! So now I am buying pipes and glue and fittings....oh how exciting...oopss trip #3 Jan we close in an hour...I will be done by then...I hope...and I won't be back...till tomorrow.

Vacation day one!!

Ahhhhh Vacation....I got to use a gift certificate for an hour massage today....need I say anymore....!! Pancakes and coffee for breakfast, after a night of singing and partying with the other Olympians. The greatest thing about having women for company, they bring good food and help clean up!!! Oh yeah and they left all of the food for me....for vacation!!! mmmmmm home made biscotti. Tomorrow I am the plumber, I have a bunch of leaks to fix...what an extreme.

Todays Aquisitions

So my intentions today were not to buy yarn. It wasn't my fault....I just wanted to "look?" Janyce was the one that made me. What could I do? We were coming home from Wisconsin Handweavers meeting and had a little lunch and I could hear undertones of....yyyy......aaaa....rrrr....nnnnn....!!! I said No!! I am absolutely not going to buy any yarn, no way Janyce you can't make me. So we ventured into Fiberwood Studio and as I approached the counter I put my hand on a hat someone knit, out of a pretty blue....Alpaca? No it is Merino. It is so soft and wonderful and as I breathed a heavy sigh, and my fingers softly caressing the yarn and my eyes possibly glassing over...Barb grinned and pointed over to the shelves filled with Malabrigo, in beautiful colors that made me drool....my hands were running from one skein to another, and then, there it was....A warning sign..."Touch at your own risk!!!" Oh no it was too late...what could I do, as I was dropping skeins, and my plastic, running to the checkout. Barb was calmly smiling as she asked...Debit or Credit, Jan? Dammit Janyce!!!

Buddy Squirrel meets Precious

You may be a tad squeamish but just keep in mind...It IS a stuffed squirrel..The real ones are in the back yard. I am thinking that my little Joey, alias Precious, for obvious reasons, was a little bored last night while I slept. I know I had no reason to sleep and after a wonderful night of chatting and knitting with the women, there was no walk in the itinerary and somebody must pay!!! It was little Buddy. Buddy is only one day old, and Joey has a fierce hate for squirrels. Her Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Scott brought her Buddy on Sunday. Immediately she was soaked with dog spit (Initiation). Then she did the welcome shaking to break the neck? Buddy got to sleep with me and Joey last night and I heard one faint squeak and then I fell asleep. Little did I know the demise that would become Little Buddy , as I dreamed of Carrot Cake and Apple Pie. I woke up to a pile of stuffing and two little arms laying side by side and a plastic squeaker gently laid next to Buddy. I never invested in Medical school for Precious, but maybe I should have, it's like she surgically painstakingly removed the arms. I think we are going for a walk tonight!!!

There is a faint resemblence here, with my new hair do? Not to mention the skin color of concrete grey. I live in a cold area? After sleeping on it, it doesn't look so bad...without my glasses! You know how when you have little children and they cut thier hair? Well my son, has a mother that cuts hers....and he chastises me, like a child that I am. When he was little, I always wanted to give him a mohalk haircut. This idea did not sit well with the rest of the family members, or him for that matter. So I threatend him that if he ever cut his own hair, I would give him a mohalk. He never cut his hair...ever!! I do though...cut my hair that is....I can' t help it...I needed a trim or change or something. I have learned though to never try to fix it yourself. It will only get worse....and shorter!!!

Helping Hands

I am knitting at top speed, in attempts to finish the color chart hat. I want to end it before opening day of the Olympics, so it is just great to have little helping hands (paws) that reach into the knitting and helps me to attain the right tension on my stitches. Well maybe he is helping me count, because this little paw keeps tapping the knitting as if to say...1...2...3...4...? I didn't see anything connected to the paw, just the paw. I can just imagine, how fascinating this constant movement of the needles and yarn jumping about must be to a cat. Needless to say I can not sit down that I don't have a grey cat on my lap. He is wherever I am and lending me a helping paw. Oh yeah I cut my hair? I who normally have stick straight hair, have developed crinkle cut french fry hair...under my top hair? Does that make sense? This could get hairy? Ok the hair on my neck is now curly and the covering hair is straight. I being in the throws of menopause, read this too is some wierd curse of the "Changes". Could I have any more symptoms? Am I the test pilot for every stinking malady of this age? I have constant hots and not the good kind. I have developed allergies I didn't have before, I have weight gain...not that I don't eat but? I have night panic attacks, skip the sweats...I am on HR drugs but sometimes I need to up the dose, but don't and just as I thought maybe I was leaving the Menses...I got curly hair? What the heck is this? If it was all curly or all straight it would be different but, what do you do with curly under hair? So I cut it....now let me tell you when I say I cut it I do mean the naked stylist. Take a shower, wash your hair and cut it all in one easy swoop. I do (did) have long hair. Oh and it's winter and I have my heavy coat of hair, very thick. Can you see where this is going? I look like the sphinx, or Rosanna Rosanna Danna...hhhmmm the kid on Dutch boy paint with dark hair is more like it...what was I thinking?

Splash of Color

This is the time of year we need color!!! Sunshine, and color, so due to a lack of color and winter blahs, I began to knit a really colorful hat!!! Check this out. It is fun and bright. Guess what is looking at me right now? It is hanging on the back beam of my loom, which is a good word for it...Looming.... about whispering for me to "finish me" ! It's the crippler, I am sorry to say I have lost all interest in it and can't even bear to wear it, if 'it' were finished. All I need to do is weave in the ends and put buttons on it. AAAhhh the buttons, my brother is going to make something from deer antlers of some bones or something natural. Until i get the cool buttons, it is hanging lifeless over there....
