Picture this

The smell of Spring is in the air, red breasted robins are singing their sweet song. The sun is shining warmly...I drag my tired butt out in the back yard and alas my hammock is waking up from a season of cold and snow!!! I took my binoculars out there and a blanket and watched some birds..actually looking for the cardinals that sing at dawn and dusk each day. It was wonderful...the sun was warm and soothing...and I napped. I am going to embrace my plumbing this weekend. All is well....!
Ha sounds like I should now have the munchies!!! I am ...carefully form these word with your lips...making a swatch...I know I know, I think I may have inhaled too many sewer fumes. I am knitting a shrug for Cheryl, she is always cold at work so I thought a nice off white shrug would do the job. It will go with everything. I am knitting the ribbing and it looks boring? So I am going to go to bed...daylight savings is kicking my hinney!!!

Still strung out!

I am slowly recovering from an intense weekend with wrenches. When I am more relaxed and it is happening, I will look at my further bathroom remodeling options? Do I knock out the tile or try to salvage the mess? So I finally have my loom all ready to weave. I worked on it tonight, before "Lost"...I am addicted. I have to switch between Idol and Lost, with Lost as my primary and during commercials trying to catch who gets voted off of Idol....oh the drama!!!
I have to wind some bobbins with some rayon weft, and decide what I am going to want this to look like? smooth, bumpy...subtle or subtle? I am weaving fabric, and the colors aren't really my favorite but I think they will weave nicely. There are no samples in this house...unless it's a sample of a brownie, and then you can be reassured that there will be a whole pan somewhere close by. Hey can you believe Easter is next week? I just found out..I seem to be having a problem with calenders this year?? Thank you all for your support on the plumbing issue!!! Planning any Orange or yellow projects?

House for Sale

Cheap!!!! All new plumbing!!! I have been struck with the schtinking plumbing woes!!!! You may remember I bought a new faucet for the bathroom because it was leaking. After my clogged drain episode...I have just looked at the new faucet and admired how nice it looks in the box. So I was going to take a shower and with one clunk, no water came out of the shower head...no big deal I don't like showers anyway...but....in order to not become a ghetto house, I figured this weekend I would change the faucet washers, because that is probably what is wrong. Mind you there were no leaks!!! After screwing off all of Saturday morning, I decided to shut off the water and change the washers....ez enough...sound familiar? SSSsooooo, I proceded with the operation and all is well....in less than 30 minutes I am done...but wait...as long as the water is off, I may as well put in the new faucet....all is well...looks good tie up all the loose ends and turn on the water...we're now talking 6:00pm...Down in the basement and turn on the water...run upstairs and the hot water faucet is leaking...more like it is pissething, not the new one the one that didn't leak before in the tub. Ok tighten the packing nut...I do this all the time. It still leaketh..tough crapola. I am going to sit down and relax for a bit, I will tackle it tomorrow!!!
Sunday morning
Turn off the water, tools in hand and hike up two flights of steps and remove the hot water faucet assembly...washer looks good? but I will change it again and check the seat...smooth? Ok this will do it..button it all up and go two flights down and turn on the water and walk back up Oh and don't forget my stress level is rising and so "Precious" is sensing this and is walking two steps ahead of me all the way...little did she know my foot was about to spontaneously ram into her butt....I talk myself down and Oh look the faucet is still leaking...I take a wrench and tighten it down some more...so...three more times trying to analyze what could be the problem and it's 4:00 Sunday night...my patience is down to nill and I am frustrated. I take a long break and re-evaluate the situation...Eat some chocolate and watch my shows and go to sleep...that's it sleep on it.
Monday morning
The pissething faucet will surely put my water bill over the edge if I keep letting it run like that so I shut the water off to the house and go to work...I pick every ones brain and ask if they ever ran across this? Most probable answer..."No? and an added Plumbing sucks!! I have a game plan..after work I will go to the plumbing experts with my dear assembly....
3:30pm I walk into the pro shop and he looks at my faucet and says "HHhmmmm Bob? You ever seen one like this?" UUUmmm no can't say that I have..can't help you, maybe the housing is cracked? I grab my unique schtinking faucet and leave with no help. I stop at home again open the closet behind the bathroom..after emptying all of the crap I forgot I had and rip out the whole "Unique" faucet set. Off to Ace....another salesman....are you sure it has an 8.5 center...yeah buddy, I can read a freeking ruler, maybe if you want I can take this One of a kind morphadite and shove it ...oh never mind...off I go to torment some other saleman at Home Depot. I buy a new faucet with 8" centers and figure I will force the sucker to fit.
8:00pm I am done and you can see how the Hillbilly is going to leave it till I can finish it...which means now I have to rip out the rest of the tile. I actually took a bath and enjoyed looking into my office from the tub...I can do this....for now!! So don't bother calling me ever again...I am grounded for life to this money pit!!!

March Meeting

We had a large group of Fiber Fanatiks on Thursday!! I didn't crop everyone off of the photos the mosaic did that Sorry!! It was actually a quiet group...(we had food)! There are so many cool projects people are making and I'd have to say Shrugs tops the list. It's hard to get a photo of everyone, unless of course you confiscate the forks, and throw a ball of yarn in one corner and as they all dash for the ball of yarn...hollar "Free Fiber!!!" and with smiles they would all turn around and "Click" photo opp!!! I am still threading my loom, I found a mistake, so it was time to take a break. I am almost ready to weave. I have been using the shoelace method as taught by the "Singing Weaver" Nadine Sanders. Wisconsin Weavers had a program with her a few years back and I was intrigued and it has proved to be easier and faster once you are set up. That is providing you don't make a mistake!!!

Resurrecting the Crippler

Remember the Crippler, aka the Einstein.... the beginning of Tendenitus...Carpal Tunnel and Acid Reflux. Well it has sat on my loom, doing just that looming about and leering at me to do something with it. I decided I didn't want the sleeves on it, because I have short arms and the sleeves only made them look shorter. I opted for a long vest like look. My brother made the buttons out of deer antlers. He used the stump of the antler, which is nearest the head. They are gorgeous. Tomorrow, which is Thursday is Fiber Fanatiks. I need some creative conversation. Hey Lois your colors are coming up for April!!! Orange and Yellow!!!!

Happy 83rd Birthday Mom

Today is my mom's birthday!! I thought I would post a photo of her in her Native dress. just kidding mom!!! When I was a child, my dad, who is Native American Ojibwa and French, would tell us our mother is Indian. This did not sit well with my mom, due to the stigma that was attached to being Indian, it was shameful to be Indian. We never bought into it, being that cowboys and Indians was the thing to be...all our heros were Cowboys and we didn't know what "Stigma" even meant. Anyways, my mom would get really ticked off because he was the Indian not her...! While on a camping trip out west, we went shopping and I got Navajo moccasins and my brother got a Souvenier Indian knife...check this out I was probably 10-11, which would make my brother 5-6...and he had a switchblade knife. So we stayed at this Reservation campground and I met a girl from Alaska that was camping with her grandparents. There were horses in the field on the side of the campers, and I had my moccasins on, which gave me bragging rights about being Indian. I was filling this girls head with bull from beginning to end...oh yeah, if I could get into that pasture, I would ride those horses bareback..(never been on a horse at that timeframe, other than the nickle horse in front of Treasure Island). We lived on a reservation, in a Teepee and I showed her my knife...eh, my brothers knife that is. The great part about camping as a kid, you will never see those people again...you can live out any fantasy you want when you travel...unless of course you get caught. I was in the shower room with my new found sucker...I mean friend and in walks my mom, I say Hi Mom, and she says "Hi honey" and new found squeeler, I mean girl says, really loud..."is that your Indian mother?" I think I saw steam coming out of the toilet stall, as my mom said through clenched teeth "Jan, get to the car..." uuuhhhmm ...I go to the car, that was packed up and ready to go, dad in the driver seat, my brother seated behind him and me behind my mom's seat...here comes mommy!!!! Kicking up stones as she was flying into the front seat...Al..(that is my dad) she is telling everyone that I'm a damn Indian...I was cowering...dad was snickering and mom was having a hissy fit....She actually threatend to take away my moccasins...so I offered her uuuhhhmmm.......my knife....
I made this card for her, and she looked at it and said that the Indian actually looked like her and I had to tell her it is!!! How funny is that...the miracles of Photo shop!!! So Happy Birthday to my Indian mother!!!

Pink Bubble Gum

Wow, that is some bubble!!! This is from our Sunday morning bowling game. I am a terrible bowler, but it is fun to just throw the ball around and be a "tard"!! Obviously my son, has inherited the same sense of humor as his mom. Is anybody working on something for Project Spectrum...pink and red this month? I have the intestines done and I did some spinning but not either of those colors..(check previous post). I found out how I lost some brain cells...well one way at least. Today they are calling it "choking", it is a very dangerous game or hobby some kids are getting. They choke themselves till they pass out and when you come to, you get all tingly and woozy. Problem is when you tie something around your neck and you pass out...you die. It's a real buzz? When I was a kid, after spinning around in circles a zillion times, got boreing, I remember someone saying "Hey, if you breath really hard for 10 times and then hold your breath and cross your arms, you faint...oh boy doesn't that sound like fun. I think I tried it once and it didn't work very well, but I do remember the tingling. Being the smart child that I was, I decided to show my mom my new trick...hey mom watch this!!! I passed out all right, I think it was her hand or maybe her shoe that hit me. When I came too, I had a tingling feeling, I think it was numbness from Mommy Dearest demonstrating the choke hold on me, and telling me "How not to ever do that again!!" So...what is old, once again becomes new. I must have been about 11 or 12 when I did this, and my one time "fainting" demo and lecture on what this does to your brain, was enough to scare the crap out of me. I was a dumb kid, very gullible, we didn't have a "Family room" we played in the Living room, in front of our parents. We shared bedrooms, so limited privacy there. We ate dinner together, had one bathroom, a set bedtime. kids now are smarter and have the ability to hide more from working parents. Maybe that's why we didn't get away with this kind of stuff...not that we didn't try. Heck I even showed them what an idiot I was. Hey mom, here's living proof that I'm a dork!!! Talk to your kids, they are better at hiding things than we were. at least than I was....

Hot Pink Tootsies

Remember Ice skating? Remember tieing your ice skates really tight to help support your ankles.....soooo tight that your feet fell asleep, but you didn't notice because they were froze? Then came the fun part....when you untied your skates and the blood rushed into your toes and burned like fire....well in fond memory of that wonderful event in my life, I relived it today. I bought new work shoes, tied them nice and tight...and they actually felt really comfortable. I should mention that I am on my feet all day, on concrete...standing. So in lay terms this means that my feet swell, I have in terms of endearment "Cankles", by the end of the day..(Cankles for those of you unfamiliar with swelling feet are Ankles that are as fat as your calves) Ok back to the story...so by 1:00, my feet are starting to pinch, just a little, so I will walk on them for another two hours before I can open the gates of hell. I actually couldn't "feel" my feet, it was the tingling in my toes that I noticed, as if they fell asleep...I think they did. So I am walking with these concrete blocks, I used to call feet, that have begun burning, the only reason I know they are burning is I can smell the rubber from my new shoes. I can do this...It's almost time to go home and I can untie these corsets from my sleeping, tingling feet. Now comes the locker room, I sit down on the bench and I try to untie my shoes, there is so much stress behind those laces, that I am now looking at my knife to cut the laces to let my toes breath...I will win this battle and with one swift pull of the gray striped lace, the shoe opened up like Pillsbury cresent rolls on a hot day!! Without a breath, the blood is rushing past the cholestral infested veins at top speed to my tippy toes, I was sure my toenails were going to pop up like the trunk on a car. I can't begin to explain the pain, so I rubbed them and talked them down...something like...ahhh poor babies, please stop burning and hurting. I only have to walk 4 blks to the parking lot, I know my old shoes will soothe the pain, but when I stepped into them I think I felt blisters on the soles of my feet. I took little baby steps to my truck..people were passing me ...where the heck is a ride when you need one...Oh I can hardly wait till tomorrow, for more torture. My poor little Hot Pink tootsies!!!

I'm not in the Pink :(

I have lost my favorite jammies, my ducky's are done, gone...thread bare and holey. We are old friends...my security blanket. First thing I look for in the laundry basket, is my duckies, it's like putting on old shoes, they are soft, they have lost all of their flannel, and I bet I didn't have them a week and I got one of those ell rips in them. I wear them while I am dying, and never got any dye on them...that I know of! I was kind of noticing they were getting pretty thin...a few pin holes here and there and then last night...I went to sit down and low and behold my knee came through the duckies. I almost cried...Hey there are two things I do the minute I walk in the door from work....put on my jammie bottoms and a cup of "Joe"!!! Don't come over and expect to see me dressed up and waiting for that knock...uh uh, home is flannel bottoms in winter and cotton in summer. I must admit that duckies were so thin they did double duty...summer and winter. I have had them for about 8 years, we are old friends..I still don't have the courage to destroy them completely...maybe I could make...something? Just look at that cute little smile...and don't look at that white chicken skin busting through the rip.

Intestinal Fortitude?

Guess who isn't too happy, wearing the guts around her neck? Suddenly Joey got shy? Check out those ears pinned back to her head.....This has been a busy week, for me. I had the Sport show Tuesday, and making dinners to cook at a dinner to go, place on Wed. and tonight vegging out tonight, and shoveling the 24" of snow we didn't get!!! Oh by the way, you are all joking about my intestinal tract, but I don't see anybody else baring their guts!!! I think unlike the Harlot with her photos of socks all over the world, I may take up baring my guts all over the world??? hhhhmmmm I may be on to something.

Remember this Pink?

Can you remember the flowers? the green grass? color? I thought you may want a shot of color. I am done working on the pink intestine. I can always rely on fellow bloggers to set me straight on what it "Really" looks like!! I am not a pink fan to begin with and this looked kind of cute to me...until now, all I can see is my guts swirling around my neck. Or maybe Piggy Pink guts!!! eeeewwww!!! I am still winding warp of tencel for the yardage I want to weave. I do not like to wind warp...I don't mind dressing the loom but I don't care to wind the warp. I have to keep saying to myself...it is part of the process. I am going to the Sport show tonight with my brother. I have not been there in years and it is really close to my house. It's one of those things that you go to once every 10 years because they have the same gimmick fishing lures, which of course you HAVE to have. It's the kind that when you pull the line it goes deeper into the waters, enticing the trained fish to circle it and it dances and swirls and the fish gather around it in multitudes like it is an alien ship invading their waters. Oh the fish don't bite on it, but they look at it!!! Then there is the defogger, that keeps your glasses fog free...once!! The Nada chair that everyone had at least one of....this was a contraption that you strapped around your waist ( it took 3 hours to figure out how to get it right) then put these straps over your knees and it took the pressure off of your back while sitting on a bleacher... yeah....!! So between my brother and I, we have bought our share of gimmicks from this event and truthfully I can't wait to go again!!! Hey Sport show "Barkers" Hawkers....whatever....We're coming!!!!

Warm pink and fuzzy....eeeww?

No this is not a porn site. I am trying to keep with the pink/red theme. I am knitting/crocheting this moebius with handspun yarn and some pink mohair I bought somewhere...I am stash busting. I didn't like the plain old moebius and thought I would crochet a ruffle on the edge, that was too pink so I am edging that with the handspun and now I like it. Like I always do it starts out as one thing and ends up being something else. It is raining again, it's a mixed bag of weather this month in Wisconsin. Cold, hot, warm, cool, rain, fog and let us not forget snow...a good saying in Milwaukee is, "If you don't like the weather stick around for 15 minutes it will change." I have another epiphany, I need to find the photos of "Wooly". I think we need to bring him out for a good laugh. Wooly for those of you not introduced is the very first handspun sweater I knit. I was just learning to spin and I was left pretty much on my own to spin and knit this amazing sweater... I will find the photo and then share it with you!!!

PINK flamingo

Last night, was spinning guild night at my house. Searching for something pink to put on my blog, Karen had the best knit flamingo...it doesn't get much pinker than that!!! It is a Fiber trends pattern that you knit and felt...Isn't she cute...the flamingo I mean!!!!! hahaha So I am done with the parties for now (I breathe a sigh of relief)....I have a story about the old lady at the grocery store yesterday. I was picking up cakes for the evening and some old lady was looking in my cart with some disgust..either she thought that I took all the cakes and she wanted one, or she thought I didn't look like I needed any more cake? Either way it was none of her business, so after I passed her I looked at the front of my cart thinking maybe someone wrote something dirty on it?? no ..so I keep shopping only to encounter her once again, blocking the row I was going to go down, Behind her is a frustrated young man throwing his hands up in the air as she is perusing the jello shelves, with her cart strategically placed in the center of the aisle so no one can go anywhere. I am aimed right at her as she gives me another dirty look and I decide there is too much drama in that row, I can go to another aisle. So with shopping over, I am walking to the checkout line when here comes the old bag doing a sprint that would make a relay runner look handicapped. I was going to go into that lane, but she beat me too it, and too bad for her it was closed!!! Spared me the embarrassment of diving for the revolving belt. In a last minute gesture to save face she decided she forgot milk...hhhhmmmmm so as her husband was attending her cart...gazing at some chick four rows down, I was filling her cart with whatever the end cap had on it...batteries, air freshner and cereal. Lucky for her we were too far from the gift of the month stainless steel pans. so I left the store with a smile on my face and a bag full of cakes and sweet revenge.......note to self...never leave my cart unattended and don't be a crabby old lady, do drugs instead!!!!

Think Pink, and Red!!

Here's the scoop on Project Spectrum, whilst creating in Pink and Red, think of a snack to bring in Pink and Red also. Somewhere towards the end of March we can get together, or maybe we can do it all on the last Thursday of the month at Johnny V's, with the Fiber Fanatiks. That way my "Precious" won't be tempted to taste some of you....more than others!!! She just wants to be one of the "girls". Precious, for those of you who have not had the joy of meeting her, is my dog Joey! Wild, mental and very short attention span best describes her...hey that describes me too!!! No wonder I love her so much!!! Anyway, life's lesson would be if you want something to come to you, don't like it or be allergic!!!!

That's Joey with Auntie Lois and Auntie Sue, she likes them because they bring her treats. She is showing you how she can lick her own nose...let me tell you, her talent doesn't stop there!!!!!

Project Spectrum

Seeing as though I have some extra time on my bacteria infected fingers. I finally have the link done for the Project Spectrum. Oh yes knitters, spinners and whoevers, we have a new project and thus can have a new party!!! If you click on the sidebar Project Spectrum it will take you to Lolly girls blog, the creater and originator of color of the month. March's color is Red or Pink. This is a fun idea, which makes (provokes ) us to use different colors for each months projects. Little does Lollygirl know that within 10 foot radius I can put my hands on about 12 unfinished projects of varying colors as we speak. But in following the rules of the game, I am going on a search for either Red or Pink to make something??? So to get onboard, check Lollygirls site to see the color of the month club!!!
March - Red and Pink
April - Orange and Yellow
May - Green
June - Blue
July - Violet / Purple
August - Neutrals / Black & White

Let the games begin....again!!!!

I dodged the bullet...I thought?

The kleenix is for my nose and the tea is for my cold/flu, and don't look at that Nutritional fact thing? Whatever the heck I have? I sound like I just smoked 3 packs of smokes and watched a Packer game. It came on quickly, so beware. It started with sneezing, itchy eyes and runny nose. I know it has been going on around me, I know lots of people have had this...why I didn't get it sooner is beyond me. I know to wash my hands frequently...and I do this, but only after I have touched every germ bearing source around me (hand rails, come to mind?) and then shoved my finger down my throat to insure the planting of any rampant germs way down in the pie hole so they can't get back out. I rub my eyes and press the bacteria into the little triangle inside of the eye so it can travel into my system faster, and how about that nose...oh yeah poke not one, but all of those fingers in the nostrils....what is with that? Part of me wants to believe I am building up an immunity and the other part of me says it's because someone said "Don't touch your eyes, nose or mouth with germy hands!!" So now I suffer the consequences..? So for those of you out there...like me...."Shove those fingers in all of your head orfices to insure proper plantation of germs." Then go buy some extra soft kleenix, Airborne, and Tea, and read blogs all day!!!

Look what I got!!!

I want to Thank my fellow Team Cheese members for thier support. I want to Thank Franklin for generating the really cool Knitting Olympic medal. I want to have another party .....kind of a post Olympics, in a couple of weeks, and on a Saturday when we don't have to go to work the next day...yeah...sounds like a plan.

Gotta love her!!!

I have mentioned to my family, just how much I laugh at the Windex crows commercial...where the guy is in his backyard and doorbell rings and he goes through the patio doors to answer it/cuts back to the crows one says" hey want to do something funny? " closes the patio doors and the guy comes back and walks into the glass doors, the crows start hysterically laughing and it makes me just laugh out loud. Soooooo, my sister-in-law was home alone and she went upstairs to take a shower, as she was putting on her robe, she heard the doorbell, a sound she is not real familiar with I may add, (everyone uses the back door.) and she headed down the stairs to see who was visiting and answer the door. As she rounded the bottom of the steps, she saw the crows on TV laughing hysterically....the crows got her too!!!! Well OK maybe you had to be there...I have only seen that commercial once. Only because I want to!!!!

My Vacation..

Day One- I went to Weavers Guild meeting, cleaned house
Day Two-Cleaned house somemore made Italian sausage in Tomato sauce..(make note of this tomato sauce) Had the Olympic Party and a good time was had by all.
Day Three-Talked on the phone, did pretty much nothing, did some knitting...good day!!!
Day Four-Planned on getting new faucets for the bathroom and kitchen, took mom to Motor Vehicle and out for dinner. Went to Krosha to knit with the group.
Day Five-Went to the washtubs in the basement to get water to rinse paintbrushes and noticed something orange in the sink? hhhmmmm looks like spagetti sauce....sure is spagetti sauce, but I rinsed the dishes upstairs? Ok get the Liquid Plumber and pour down sink..now you know when this started!!!! I used my super duper Pampered chef grease mop to take the grease off of the top of the sausage and of course with very hot water rinsed the mop....that was Sunday. Ok so pour more grease cutter down the drains. make note:grease mop is in garbage and I use paper toweling to sop the grease from here on.
Day Six-I have plans to visit a friend so pour more junk down the sink and I leave very early. While I am out, my mother volunteers me to do some of her friends mending..the friend calls me and I don't commit...I seethe!!! Come home the sink is still plugged and now the pipe is leaking. Off to the hardware store to buy pipe and fittings and more s*#@t. I have the piping done by 8:00pm but the plug is still there.
Day Seven-Up early pour more junk down the sink, go to the hardware store. Buy faucets one for the bathroom too. The one in the kitchen has decided to spring a leak on the cheap ass chrome covered plastic...why not!!! I also buy a 30' long snake to shove into the crappy drain. I come home and empty all the junk from under the sink take the cleanout apart I cut the tie wraps on the snake and it is spring loaded and whips me in the face..oh the words out of my mouth...let the games begin....I proceed to shove the snake deeper and deeper into the bowels of the sewer pipe. I think it is reaching out to the road by now so I slowly pull it back wiping off the black unknown crap that is hanging on it. I have this nasty thing by the neck and out the back door it goes into the snow...just in case it has to make another appearance. Mission accomplished, now the faucet...that is a breeze. I am done...skip the bathroom faucet for now...my back is killing me.
Day Eight-Run water down my clean drain and trust I can wash clothes....I do, it drains I'm back in business. I am making lasagne and I fear an orange wash tub again...It all seems Ok!!! Life is good, I need to go back to work for rest!!!
I did some spinning today....

Hell day!!!

Did I mention I was on vacation? Did I mention that just because I wasn't going anywhere I didn't want to have to do plumbing all week. Or unvoluntary sewing for someone else that I don't know? The day started out Ok, except I knew my drain was plugged and put some stinking Liquid Plumber down it before I went to bed. Put more down before I went to Madison, did some visiting and got a call from a friend of mommy dearest. Hi Jan your mom said you could sew these pants for me....did she now? hhhhhmmmmm maybe mummy can sew them for you....steam rising off of Jan....I will call you back...later!!!! I came home to a still plugged sink. So off to the hardware store where I bought all kinds of "better" liquid to throw down and I did and then I heard the water piddling on the floor...sure enough I rotted the pipe...dammit. So trip #2 to the Hardware store...Hi Jan...back again? Yup!!!! So now I am buying pipes and glue and fittings....oh how exciting...oopss trip #3 Jan we close in an hour...I will be done by then...I hope...and I won't be back...till tomorrow.

Vacation day one!!

Ahhhhh Vacation....I got to use a gift certificate for an hour massage today....need I say anymore....!! Pancakes and coffee for breakfast, after a night of singing and partying with the other Olympians. The greatest thing about having women for company, they bring good food and help clean up!!! Oh yeah and they left all of the food for me....for vacation!!! mmmmmm home made biscotti. Tomorrow I am the plumber, I have a bunch of leaks to fix...what an extreme.

Todays Aquisitions

So my intentions today were not to buy yarn. It wasn't my fault....I just wanted to "look?" Janyce was the one that made me. What could I do? We were coming home from Wisconsin Handweavers meeting and had a little lunch and I could hear undertones of....yyyy......aaaa....rrrr....nnnnn....!!! I said No!! I am absolutely not going to buy any yarn, no way Janyce you can't make me. So we ventured into Fiberwood Studio and as I approached the counter I put my hand on a hat someone knit, out of a pretty blue....Alpaca? No it is Merino. It is so soft and wonderful and as I breathed a heavy sigh, and my fingers softly caressing the yarn and my eyes possibly glassing over...Barb grinned and pointed over to the shelves filled with Malabrigo, in beautiful colors that made me drool....my hands were running from one skein to another, and then, there it was....A warning sign..."Touch at your own risk!!!" Oh no it was too late...what could I do, as I was dropping skeins, and my plastic, running to the checkout. Barb was calmly smiling as she asked...Debit or Credit, Jan? Dammit Janyce!!!

Buddy Squirrel meets Precious

You may be a tad squeamish but just keep in mind...It IS a stuffed squirrel..The real ones are in the back yard. I am thinking that my little Joey, alias Precious, for obvious reasons, was a little bored last night while I slept. I know I had no reason to sleep and after a wonderful night of chatting and knitting with the women, there was no walk in the itinerary and somebody must pay!!! It was little Buddy. Buddy is only one day old, and Joey has a fierce hate for squirrels. Her Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Scott brought her Buddy on Sunday. Immediately she was soaked with dog spit (Initiation). Then she did the welcome shaking to break the neck? Buddy got to sleep with me and Joey last night and I heard one faint squeak and then I fell asleep. Little did I know the demise that would become Little Buddy , as I dreamed of Carrot Cake and Apple Pie. I woke up to a pile of stuffing and two little arms laying side by side and a plastic squeaker gently laid next to Buddy. I never invested in Medical school for Precious, but maybe I should have, it's like she surgically painstakingly removed the arms. I think we are going for a walk tonight!!!

There is a faint resemblence here, with my new hair do? Not to mention the skin color of concrete grey. I live in a cold area? After sleeping on it, it doesn't look so bad...without my glasses! You know how when you have little children and they cut thier hair? Well my son, has a mother that cuts hers....and he chastises me, like a child that I am. When he was little, I always wanted to give him a mohalk haircut. This idea did not sit well with the rest of the family members, or him for that matter. So I threatend him that if he ever cut his own hair, I would give him a mohalk. He never cut his hair...ever!! I do though...cut my hair that is....I can' t help it...I needed a trim or change or something. I have learned though to never try to fix it yourself. It will only get worse....and shorter!!!

Helping Hands

I am knitting at top speed, in attempts to finish the color chart hat. I want to end it before opening day of the Olympics, so it is just great to have little helping hands (paws) that reach into the knitting and helps me to attain the right tension on my stitches. Well maybe he is helping me count, because this little paw keeps tapping the knitting as if to say...1...2...3...4...? I didn't see anything connected to the paw, just the paw. I can just imagine, how fascinating this constant movement of the needles and yarn jumping about must be to a cat. Needless to say I can not sit down that I don't have a grey cat on my lap. He is wherever I am and lending me a helping paw. Oh yeah I cut my hair? I who normally have stick straight hair, have developed crinkle cut french fry hair...under my top hair? Does that make sense? This could get hairy? Ok the hair on my neck is now curly and the covering hair is straight. I being in the throws of menopause, read this too is some wierd curse of the "Changes". Could I have any more symptoms? Am I the test pilot for every stinking malady of this age? I have constant hots and not the good kind. I have developed allergies I didn't have before, I have weight gain...not that I don't eat but? I have night panic attacks, skip the sweats...I am on HR drugs but sometimes I need to up the dose, but don't and just as I thought maybe I was leaving the Menses...I got curly hair? What the heck is this? If it was all curly or all straight it would be different but, what do you do with curly under hair? So I cut it....now let me tell you when I say I cut it I do mean the naked stylist. Take a shower, wash your hair and cut it all in one easy swoop. I do (did) have long hair. Oh and it's winter and I have my heavy coat of hair, very thick. Can you see where this is going? I look like the sphinx, or Rosanna Rosanna Danna...hhhmmm the kid on Dutch boy paint with dark hair is more like it...what was I thinking?

Splash of Color

This is the time of year we need color!!! Sunshine, and color, so due to a lack of color and winter blahs, I began to knit a really colorful hat!!! Check this out. It is fun and bright. Guess what is looking at me right now? It is hanging on the back beam of my loom, which is a good word for it...Looming.... about whispering for me to "finish me" ! It's the crippler, I am sorry to say I have lost all interest in it and can't even bear to wear it, if 'it' were finished. All I need to do is weave in the ends and put buttons on it. AAAhhh the buttons, my brother is going to make something from deer antlers of some bones or something natural. Until i get the cool buttons, it is hanging lifeless over there....

Pre Olympic Butterflies

I actually did my version of a guage swatch. I got the idea so I don't think I need to do a 4" square. I am down to size #1 US #%@$%@^^^$@$% needles!!!!! I vow right now that I am not going to knit this tam on stick pins!!! News flash...I will not knit, no matter who, or what, the challenge is, knit... on anything less than 0 not 00 or 000. I have seen stick pins that were larger. I don't care if my mother has to wear an afro wig, in order to fit into this hat, but I draw the line at 0. If it's to big to wear, I will have just knit the most beautiful tea cozy!!! At this size needle I could knit Barbie clothes!!! Shock is the word...but I am determined to do this. I am not a quitter, I am on a mission. I am actually excited to get this started...Ok maybe I lied a tad.....

Got Gauge?

I got my delivery today for knitting the Fair Isle hat. I love getting packages in the mail, it is so much like Christmas. I ordered the yarn from Knit Piks. I also have the white but it is just ....white? Now I have to do the dreaded Gauge...I'll have you know this is probably going to be knit on US 2 or 3 needles....me. I don't knit on anything less than 7's. But seeing as though I am being challenged and this is an Olympic Game, I will do it!!! For rules and times check out Wisconsin knits on the right. I think there are only 10 days left so get that guage figured out. I am also planning on having a night of knitting and game watching here. It will be a pre ceremony party and then I will have a Medals ceremony at the end.

Panic attack

I had a panic attack, but I'm back now....I have had a rouse with Satelite and Cable both...I am on their black list, both of them. I have had Dish for years, but due to poor service I changed to Cable, but again due to a lie and poor service, but mostly a lie, I switched back. All this by the way to get the best deal and save money. Now, I have cable internet, or had until the dish guy disconnected the cable and screwed up the whole works. So I was to be without internet for 5 days. This did not set well with me, being that I have to have and do things "Now". After a good nights sleep and a full belly of Red Lobster Crab legs, I tackled the tangled mess of coaxle cables. The side of my house looks like swiss cheese, I guess the easy way to hook things up is to drill a new hole!!! Through trial and error and a marathon of running up and down the stairs from the basement to the upstairs and again working up an appetite and drinking a gallon of coffee. I now have dish and internet!!! I knew I could'nt make it to next week. Panic was setting in and I was going into the shakes, Jonesing for my lap top!!!! I missed the two of you that read this?

Who came early?

Those of us, that are regulars at Fiber Fanatiks, we know who we are, all know about who gets there and when. Lawdy, Lawdy, look who is walking through the door at 5:15ish, it was Michelle, Eugenie and Maryanne!!! Oh yeah, I am not kidding, early!!
It was good to see them and I took a photo for proof, the room is mostly empty!!! On a good note, Hazel Carter who suffered an aneurism, has come out of surgery and is doing well. We are all knitting a 7" square to make a blanket for her. Hazel is a very talented lady and a real character.
All you Wisconsin Knitters, and Olympian contenders, I have a blog up to post photos of your projects and to sign up and commit!!! Come on it will be fun!!!

Long Long Long...Moebius

From the photo, you will see that the moebius magical ring is a tad bit too long....6 times the ruler length. So rumor has it that Goliath needed a new scarf...or Paul Bunyon...what other giants are there oh yeah Jack and the Beanstalk guy!!! So I figure I still can wear this if I wrap it around my neck 20 times?
Ok now Wisconsin Knitters I am going to challenge you to the Knitting Olympics ala Yarn Harlot. I am putting together a new blog for us winter wonders of knitting. I am working on it, so start thinking about what you are going to do and check out the other Olympic bloggers. We will follow the same rules but this is where we can put photos and get "on board".

Neverending Bind off...

I am almost finished with the worlds longest Magical Moebius. It will probably hang down to my knees. I am binding off and off and off and off....and off. Rule #1-never cast on 4,387 stitches. This is most certainly an Infinite Ring an unending ring. What the heck was I thinking....did I loose count? Was I watching a good movie, or did the moebius cast on, become so fun and exciting and I just couldn't stop!!! Whatever it is, I am binding off...still. The Harlot gave away the most beautiful mittens to Stacy, her name was picked out of almost 1,000 names. Check them out on Yarn Harlots blog.

Gallery Night

Tonight was Gallery night downtown Milwaukee. It was a wonderful night and it snowed and snowed and is still snowing!! Heavy beautiful flakes. We had planned on doing the trolley to get around, but I don't think they were running, at least we didn't see it. I am guessing we already have 5" and it's still coming. If I stretch my feet out from my place on the couch right now, I can touch no less than three knitting projects and 4 knitting books. Needless to say, my feet are touching them not my hands. I started out this year with the intent of finishing projects, not starting a zillion new ones. I did finish one Magical Moebius, I have one I am working on now. This new collar hat thingy and a multi directional scarf and a triangle multi directional scarf and on the end table is a sock I am working on. In an age where no one has any accountability, I am not accountable for my disfunctionaly short attention span. I am blaming the Yarn Harlot, it's all her fault. She keeps knitting new things and 'Help I'm knitting but I can't keep up!!!' Now on top of all of this I have to think of the Olympics. I can barely sleep, contemplating which sport I am going to participate in. Shall I ski in a Fair Isle hat or Skate in a Magical Lace Moebius? Hey I got my new coffee cup press to go...can you tell ?

Self Explanitory

Quit lurking and just drop a comment will you!!! It really is pretty easy...and the reason for the goofy lettering is to prevent computers from putting unwanted comments on the blog. I am exercising in preparation for the Olympics...I lift my needles and twist my wrists and stretch...the pressure is getting to me. I know I will be under the scrutiny of a few, but I am doing some chocolatoids to increase my knitting stamina. I still am not sure which project I will be doing but I am leaning towards the lace. One reason is I already have the yarn, second the suggested needle size on that stupid hat is 3...I don't do 3....soooooo. I am thinking the lace with cashmere/merino dyed purple or bluesy...now I have to pick a color and get it dyed too before February.

Whatever happened to Sorry, wrong number?

Does anyone teach manners anymore? Do all nine year olds have cell phones? Bring me up to speed please.... For the last few days I keep getting a call from this number....eeewwww I am so tempted to put it on the web. I don't answer it because of course I don't recognize it and I barely answer calls I recognize. So at 11:30pm Saturday evening, while I was just nuzzling into my pillow, the phone rings and in a sleepy coma, I look at the number and it's looks vaguely like the number during the day. Now I do have a message that clearly states who I am and I do say my first name, so if I were to call my friend Alice and I get a machine that answers "Hi, this is Martha?" and I didn't recognize the voice because it was a kid...I am smart enough to know I have called the wrong number. So in the morning I remember the 11:30 call and decide I need to find out who is calling me constantly. A kid answers the phone and I proceed to state that they have been calling the wrong number and I would appreciate if they would check the number they were trying to call, because they woke me up...."Is this Queen?" silence.....No and don't call this number again..Thank you. I hang up the phone turn to walk away somewhat pleased with myself for not screaming at the stupid kid for not getting the fact that I am not 9 years old and my name is Jan not Queen. Ringgggggg!!!! I look and I'll be damned if it isn't that number...Hello? I barely take a breath when a mom is screaming at me that I shouldn't holler at her nine year old daughter and I have no right to tell her not to call and it was just a wrong number...no big deal. I calmly said she called at 11:30 at night and that is a bit disturbing... her---she called a wrong number get over it!!! Calm is on a slippery slope and going fast...Lady you just pissed off the wrong Queen!!! and I hung up!! Oh I have toyed with the idea of what to do for revenge...what can I do...Shall I post the number on a shady website? Shall I make *67 calls at inappropriate times of the day and evening....the nerve of some people...So as I think of what I could do I know what I am going to do....nothing...but it sure made me feel good playing out every evil scene in my mind.
I finished one Moebius ring, it is the sample for a class...I really am addicted.

I Accept!!

Once again she lurks on her Blog, challenging me and others to an Olympic Knit off. I like the Olympics but only the winter ones...lucky for her!!! If you accept her challenge "Her" being the Harlot of course, you begin casting on during the opening ceremonies and have 16 days to knit what ever you choose to knit. The (Overachiever) Harlot is doing this phenomenal sweater that is from Dale of Norway...hhhmmm will she or won't she finish it. I have faith that she will, she is one helluva knitter. Me, I chose either this Magical Moebius ring made with hand spun cashmere/merino?

Or this Fair Isle hat for my mum!! So lace or fair isle...fair isle or lace? I have some time to think about it. I wonder if I have vacation during the Olympics? hhhhmmmm

Follow the link on the right for Yarn Harlot to wax up your needles and wind your yarn and do your swatch and ready, set, go!!

Adoptive parents

Having the ability to choose your children or to select them is a special event...how special is the adoptee, to be picked by parents that have made a concious choice to add you into thier lives? Today we made a special 3 hour trip, there was no time to knit blankets or sweaters. No time to think of names or fix up rooms. It was sudden, but I'm sure you will agree not once, but twice...once you have a little sweetheart in your life ...it's hard to have an empty home. I think you will agree, agree that there are two, two very happy people here in this photo, photo. No you are not seeing double and I am not making typos. My brother and his wife have adopted two little baby Schipperkes. They are four months old and were dolls on our three hour drive home, no one got piddled on and there was no crying. Maybe that will come later and I have a feeling it won't be the puppies!!! They don't have names set in stone yet, but the girl may be Maggie and the boy Riley. Welcome home to my new niece and nephew. Welcome

Go into the light Carrie Anne!!!

Hey, I do not live in Seattle, but we have been without sunshine for I think a few weeks. Guess what sneaked out today??? I think it was the sun? People everywhere stopped biting off their neighbors heads and faced the south, squinted their eyes and smiled!!!! It's true, I layed back in my truck seat (too cold for the hammock) and let the sun beat in my eyes, a physical recharging of my internal batteries. I am working on the Magical ring, I think I got overzealous and cast on a zillion stitches. Hey I did get a spurt of energy and vacuumed ...thank you sunshine!!!!

Warning...Blogs are habit forming

Not much to say this evening..."Lost" night and then" Invasion". This means a special treat...like Nachos or cheese and crackers..something special because everyone knows we all need to be special. So I am pressing my coffee and having a little chocolate, which by the way is pronounced Chalk-ohhhhh-liiittt. It is three syllables because anything that tastes as good deserves to be drawn out. Check out the new handmade glass needles. I found a new chocolate to die for...Lindt with a creamy filling...ooooohhhhhh..Ok back to the truth behind the title here. I am addicted to Blogs...following the trails and visiting bloggers in their homes up close and personal. I am traveling to Belgium, England...I have been spending time in England and learning about Quince and totally enjoying my discoveries, from beautiful dishes to the most wonderful flowers and on and on. Not to mention the knitting...ahhh it makes me tired and my hands hurt just trying to keep up. Bloggers willing to let me peer into their lives and fulfill a need to live vicariously in the shoes of others. I am a World traveler and I haven't left my couch. I only have to log on and I'm off. Thanks to all of those that share their talents and thoughts with the rest of us....
Hey the Magic is working...I had a comment from the Harlot herself!!!! Ahhhh touched by a Harlot..she is a great inspiration and I admit I can't keep up!! Off to nuke my nachos....!!! and get "Lost"

Entering the Magical Kingdom

Once upon a time there was a crazy woman, she had a weird way of knotting yarns together with two sticks. Working off of one stick that she held between her thighs, she could tension the yarns and quickly wiggle the sticks and create a knitted fabric? In a far away Country another woman was doing the same but she was using sticks tied together, she knew how to make fabric into a circle with a Magical twist in it. This woman knit flat and round and lacy and she was named Harlot. She didn't know Crazy woman but she inspired her...she really pushed her to attempt things beyond her ideas. She has images of beautiful creations and stepping stones to others that do the same. So the Crazy woman not to be outdone took to using the sticks with a string and entered the Magical knitting of Cat Bordhi's Moebus Rings via the Yarn Harlot. Now thanks to the Harlot, Crazy woman is obsessed with these rings and has all her family and friends making paper rings and cutting them in two and writing on them...it's no wonder they call her Crazy woman!!! And damn proud of it!!!! I got this yarn from a second hand shop and the price was on a huge bag for $2.99..it is from my stash..I might add!!! Like Magic

Artwork

Art come in many shapes forms and colors. Art can hang on walls, sit on tables, be worn on hands. Point is I think this piece of art is going to end up staying on the loom....it is my "for" project. "For" my next vacation...."For" a rainy day..."For" nothing to do..."For" a while..."Forever!!!"
I am planning on finishing it, I actually have a bare spot on my wall for it. I anticipate seeing it hanging there. I know why the Navajo sit crossed legs and finish these rugs in a few weeks...it's because they can't move...my legs cramp and with the attention span of a flea, I can't sit still that long unless it involves a movie and food. So my conclusion to this is...find a stool, order food, and chocolate and force myself to sit and weave one inch a day. In 15 days I could be done. It could be hanging elegantly on the wall, collecting compliments from visiting friends, neighbors, family...peeping toms!!! Crowds would gather outside my window and the Tribal Nations would come to Honor it., the Smithsonian would commission it....OK I'm back now. Maybe I'll start working on it tomorrow, after I walk 5 miles.

Up in Smoke

For those of you that were at the Fiber Fanatiks Christmas Party, you will not have worry about getting the fruitcake, next year. The wicks were lit and the fruitcake is burning. That is about all fruitcake is good for, other than a doorstop. I got this as a gift...and I was having a fit when I was unwrapping it! Who would give me a crappy fruitcake that looked 30 years old and weighed a ton, wrapped in crisp cellophane, that crinkled and giggled as I was cursing and trying to figure out how to rid myself of this horrible cake of nut and fruit filled concrete. Well turns out it was a candle on closer evaluation...sorry!!! So what better way to get rid of an ugly fruitcake candle...wrap it up and give it as a joke in a game of "you get stuck with it if you unwrap it!!!" No more it is on it's way to fruitcake candle heaven..up in smoke!!! It didn't want to die easily though...Beth lit it and it hisses...how nice is that a Cobra Fruitcake candle to boot? Hissssssssssssssss

Recycle for Soldiers

Today I am going to take some old phones to recycle them for 100 minute phone cards for soldiers. I know if I look harder I have another one floating around here somewhere? Some kids in Massachusetts found out that some Soldiers in their area were in Iraq and couldn't afford to phone home. They started collecting money and recycling items to fund phone cards to send the Soldiers. Liberty Tax service heard about this and jumped on the bandwagon. So if you take any old cell phones, doesn't matter if they work or not, to any Liberty tax service, they will donate a 100 minute phone card to the Soldiers. They actually recycle the phones so they will go to better uses! I have been dizzy off and on for a week....new miracle drug!!! Gatorade!!! Here I thought it was sinus all along and it may well be, but Gatorade seems to help with the dizzy stuff? I don't need any comments about being dizzy...

High hopes?

I know you are reading this...I know you are going..na na na na naaa..I know I had great hopes...but I fell short..well not really but my yarn is going to. I know you said it was going to happen but for some reason, and with these rose colored glasses that I own (and use mostly for picking husbands) I thought I may have enough. The label said so? Ok so I forgot to tell you I was making a purse for my cell phone?? A scarf for the top of my TV? Than again I'm not done yet, I still have a tennis size ball of yarn. Maybe this is the unending ball of yarn...kind of like the "Crippler" jacket now vest..unending. Well getting on with the knitting. Seems like I am running out of the one skein of Cherry Tree HIll, that I have no idea where I got it from. I dug it out of my stash when I got this pattern from Beth at Kro-Sha. I will attempt to post it some time in the future or sooner? If I can figure out how to do it? It's a free pattern but I must include the copyright...it says so. Or you can stop by Kro-Sha and I'm sure Beth can whip you off a copy...bring your needles or not? You can sit on a couch with the cat...Jessie and pick some yarn and start your own Multi-Directional scarf. Make sure you get enough yarn...!!!
I stepped on those glasses and broke the lens to smitherings...!!!

Little Black Dog

Today is a sad day in the Massie households. My little black niece had to be put to sleep. She was 11 yrs. old and has been sick for a while...not that she didn't put her best paw forward. Monday we had dinner by my SIL and Brother and Abby wasn't eating too well...until I pretended to be eating her dog food and fed her from the table..she ate just fine. Her Grampa and Grandmas and cousin Joey got to see her behaving pretty good. But for the last two days she was disoriented and confused..and it was time. For a pet owner, it is the hardest thing about parenting anyone can imagine. We will miss her..she was the good girl, I own the brat. She had exquisite manners and listened so well....I have the misbehaving naughty girl. She made everyone love her...! She wasn't always so good, there was a time she had the nickname the "home improvement dog". She ripped up the linoleum, the wallpaper, she ate through her gate..and the final act of defiance was the front of the stereo speakers. She has come a long way from those days..There are so many cute things she did. She chased chippes (chipmunks), she went fishing, in the boat and ice fishing, camping, and visiting. She even had a boyfriend, a man she loved and flirted with. My brothers friend and fishing buddy. She was like a silly little schoolgirl with him. She was a spoiled child and knew how to get her way. She was like everyones dog. Just recently they were out icefishing and she went over by two old guys sitting on pails, and one of the guys put his hand down and was petting her like she was his....she had a way about her. She has brought so much joy. She has left us all with so many memories. She died with her dignity...she has left a void. She was the cutest little black dog...Abby.

What can be said?

Coming from a family that is all too familiar with the hazards of mining, my heart goes out to the families of the deceased in West Virginia. My parents come from the UP and copper mines were the main stay of jobs there. I know both my Grandfathers worked the mine and so did my Dad for a short time. It was how they earned a living. Everyday going deep into the earth on a car that you had to sit back to back with your knees angled off, so not to hit the walls on the descent. I know my Grandpa wore shoes that had nail in the soles and my mom wasn't sure why, if it was for traction or what, but she knew they were really heavy Sundays he had to go check the integrity of the timbers and shoring inside the mine..by himself, so that others would be safe. Mom had a teacher that lost her husband in a cave in and told her students that each morning when you say goodbye to your fathers you may never see them again...they may never come out of that hole. As morbid as that seems it was a reality. These people live with that fear each day. I pray for their courage and strength, I also sympathize with their being misled and false hope. They have been through a lot. I can't imagine the stamina it will take for their friends and families to go to work again for another day. My sympathy with them all.
I finished my skein and it is washed and ready to knit....I will have to let it sit awhile before I decide what to do with it. I am fighting a sinus infection, that is totally dragging me down. Join the crowd!!!

Where's the Sunshine

If we could only send Oklahoma our rainy days and no sunshine. I wish we could..so does California, unfortunately we can't. My laptop was down along with alot of peoples moods. Only down because of a technical difficulty..the airport was not accepting my pleas to land? Huh...if only I had used the right user name...simple things like that, can make all the difference in the world. So day one of eating better....I have done OK till now and I really need to get to my Hot Chocolate...Ok so we don't want to lose too much weight the first day. Withering away to a mere shell of myself, sunken cheek bones, baggy pants....see I am already losing my mental acuteness. Ok, I'm back now....
I have a big task ahead of me...my mom gave me all of our old photos. Partly because I wanted to be able to share them with my other siblings and then give them back to her. Second, my mom is not nostalgic at all...maybe more now than ever. Anyway I didn't want them to be lost. I downloaded this program so I can title them and put them into a slide show...major undertaking, but well worth the outcome..I hope. I finished spinning the cashmere/alpaca and it is hanging to dry as we type. The photo is my wonderful cat...Tinker trying to attack a bird his size on TV? It was more fun watching him.

Happy New Year

Here we are in 2006. First off my New Years started with a dizzy spell that made a rum drunk feel good. Naturally I have to get a full blown sinus infection to ring in the New Year. Speaking of ringing, my ears are doing their own concert. I got up and sat down four times and figured I'll feel my way to the kitchen sink and hang on there??? my logic? I let the dog out and up to bed I went. I thought it's either 911 or sleep, I opted for sleep. Oh yeah...I can not remember the last time my bed spun like that...now I love to spin....but not in my head. I did fall asleep and eventually figured after waking up with morning sickness that it's my sinus's.... Happy New Year!!! Or maybe it's Karma for eating a ton of garbage over the week, and enough chocolate to make Willy Wonka jealous. Is this the revenge of the cocao bean? It doesn't matter part of my resolutions if you want to call it that is " Eat better food" not a diet because that would be the kiss of death. Diet is a four letter word in my vocabulary...the word that will increase my appetite to the point of tasting wall paper. Happy New Year
